While iOS is more capable now than it has ever been in the past, third-party developers still have to operate within the restrictions put in place by Apple’s iOS developer program. Plenty is off limits, which is why there is still a thriving community of developers who build unauthorized software for iOS that ignores Apple’s guidelines to bring features to iPhones and iPads that most users will never experience.
