There’s a lot to love when it comes to Apple’s iPhone lineup, but the company’s smartphones have never been class leaders when it comes to battery life. To make matters worse, smartphone battery performance always takes a hit over time as charge cycles take their toll. Sometimes things go wrong though, and an iPhone’s battery life starts going south much sooner than expected.
If your iPhone 6 is new and under warranty, Apple will run some tests and likely replace your battery for free. If you’ve somehow voided your warranty or down the road when your phone is out of warranty, you may have to pay to replace a bad battery. As it turns out, however, replacing your iPhone 6’s battery yourself might not be as difficult as you think, and you might be able to save some money that way.
