One of the more interesting things about the Apple Watch is how the narrative behind the wearable has seemingly done a 180. Today, in sharp contrast, Apple prefers to tout the device as a fitness tracker and health monitor.
Over the last few months, we’ve seen quite a few stories involving the heart rate monitor on the Apple Watch being used to detect potentially life-threatening health conditions. Indeed, it’s no exaggeration to say that the Apple Watch has helped save numerous lives at this point. And now comes word that the fall detection feature first introduced on the Apple Watch Series 4 has started saving lives as well.
