Ecobee just announced a brand new model it calls the SmartThermostat, and it’s very… nice. It has glass covering the front now, the built-in Alexa speaker is a little bit louder, and it’s marginally faster than the previous-generation ecobee4. It’s nice and all, but none of those features are really must-have features. After all, you’re not streaming music to your thermostat!
