Apple’s leaked iPhone 12 design is stunning, and this is our best look yet
- Apple’s overhauled iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro designs leaked even before the iPhone 11 was announced last year, thanks to information from the most reliable Apple leaker in the business.
- While most of what he reported about the iPhone 12 series in those early months is still believed to be true, there are some plans that have seemingly changed since then.
- We now have what is believed to be a clear picture of Apple’s final iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro designs, and renders that have appeared in a new video on YouTube likely give us our best look yet.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
It’s still unclear what kind of supply shortages Apple will be facing, but it looks increasingly likely that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro series phones are on track to be released on schedule this coming September. Things could certainly change, especially if the Trump administration gets its way and rushes things in an effort to reopen nonessential businesses and ease shelter in place orders. If that happens in May, there’s pretty much no question that we’re in store for a massive second wave of novel coronavirus infections. Even if states try to defy orders to reopen businesses, enough people will follow Trump’s lead and ease social distancing practices that a second wave will be ensured. Remember, the novel coronavirus lingers in the air and stays alive on surfaces much longer than we initially thought, and it can even travel at least four or five times farther through the air than the public was initially told.
If there is a big second wave of COVID-19 infections, we could certainly see Apple change its plans and delay the iPhone 12 launch. If efforts to reopen are pushed back a bit, however, we could see things start to return to normal by the late summer. Apple still almost certainly won’t host its customary in-person September press conference either way and will instead opt for a virtual event to unveil the iPhone 12 series like what the company’s doing for WWDC 2020. And when Apple finally does unveil its new iPhone 12 models later this year, we’re pretty sure they’ve going to look almost exactly like what you’re about to see in the YouTube video below.

Help make the world greener alongside HP
There are many ways to help the world around you. For example, you can stop using plastic bottles as much as possible or make sure to recycle them if you do. You can unplug your devices and plugs when you aren’t using them to save and conserve energy. You can conserve water as often as you can. But there are other ways for you to do your part that you may not even realize. One of them is by teaming up with HP in its sustainability efforts.
HP, winners of the 2020 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence award, has been making concerted efforts to better the Earth for years. Since 2010, HP has reduced the energy consumption of its personal systems by 44% on average. HP has made its machines better for the world and when you purchase them, you’ll be doing your part as well.
Not only will you be reducing environmental impact and improving portability, but you’ll also be able to enjoy really low prices on easy-to-use devices right now. For example, the HP Elite Dragonfly Notebook is one of the sleekest 2-in-1 devices on the market. But did you also know that it’s the world’s first notebook made from ocean-bound plastics? It is EPEAT® Registered Gold and ENERGY STAR® certified and can be yours for starting at $1,961.80, which is nearly $1,000 off its typical cost!
If you’re looking for a customizable PC, you should check out the HP Proboook 450 G7 Notebook PC- Customizable. This was designed with the environment in mind, as there is at least 10% recycled plastic content in the product. It is EPEAT® Registered Gold and ENERGY STAR® certified and will help you get the job done. All in all, this is a terrific laptop that is now starting at $1,053, which is over $500 off its normal price.
For those who may need a desktop for their home that’s able to handle a lot, you can opt for the HP Z2 Small Form Factor G4 Workstation – Customizable. This is a compact device that gives you high end results. This allows you to take on 3D design projects and run multiple apps all at once. It is ENERGY STAR® certified and EPEAT® Silver Registered. You can nab this for only $781.20, a nearly 50% discount!
Not only does HP have sustainable machines, but it is also doing its part to give back to Mother Nature. The current Buy One Plant One campaign promises that for every printer sold, HP will plant a tree in association with the Arbor Day Foundation! This will help restore and grow US forests. From Mississippi to California, HP will work to add more trees to the country. Purchasing printers like the HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer for only $129.99 or the HP Tango Terra Printer for $99.99 will give you a tremendous machine and make you feel good about helping the planet.
HP is continuing its efforts to better the world around us and you can too. These prices and events won’t last forever, so you should make sure you’re heading over to HP’s website to get the best deals. Help the environment and get awesome technology from HP in the process.

Amazon’s best-selling face masks are finally back in stock
- Medical-grade face masks should be reserved for healthcare professionals, but the rest of us are still being advised to wear protective face masks when we have to leave our homes.
- Amazon’s best-selling face masks are now back in stock, offering better protection than most homemade masks at a decent price.
- It’s unclear how much inventory Amazon has on hand right now, but there’s a good chance these masks will sell out soon so you’ll need to act fast if you want a box for yourself and your family.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
News flash: unless you’re a doctor, a nurse, or a first responder on the front lines of the war against the novel coronavirus pandemic, you don’t need an N95 respirator face mask. You just don’t. Even if you somehow come across some N95 masks that are available to purchase, you shouldn’t buy them for two reasons. First and foremost, there’s still a horrible shortage of N95 face masks and people selling them on the black market are further reducing the number of available masks for the healthcare industry. Second, they’re undoubtedly severely overpriced and they’re a waste of money if you don’t have a real need.
People with nonessential jobs are being advised to continue to shelter in place right now. Even if businesses start to open up in early March like the White House wants them to (against pretty much all expert advice), you should still continue to quarantine yourself and only go out when you absolutely must. When you do have to go out, however, the CDC advises us all to use some type of protective face covering in order to limit the transmission of the novel coronavirus.
Now, there are a bunch of different options out there that won’t block healthcare professionals from getting the medical-grade face masks they all need so desperately. For example, recently we told you how to quickly and easily make your own DIY face masks using supplies that you likely already have in your home, and they’re far more effective than any cloth DIY face mask instructions you’ll find. If you want to step things up a bit, someone reverse-engineered an N95 face mask and posted instructions to make your own, complete with a virus neutralizer.
Face Mask, Pack of 50: $38.99
If you’re not into either of those options, you’ll be happy to learn that Amazon’s best-selling face masks are now back in stop and available to ship out as soon as possible. These are 3-layer masks that do a great job of blocking things for your airways — as long as you take the necessary precautions and practice strict social distancing. These are not N95 masks or medical-grade surgical masks, and that’s important to note. That said, they’re much better than most of the cloth DIY face masks that people are sharing plans for online these days.
The aforementioned face masks from Amazon and the two DIY masks we linked are all great options, and they’ll definitely do the job if you also remain vigilant. Stay at home unless you absolutely must go out. Practice social distancing and stay as far away from other people when you do have to leave the house. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer as frequently as possible, especially after touching surfaces outside of your home.

Sony’s PS5 design is still secret, but designers keep imagining their own PlayStation 5
- The PS5 design, price, and release date are still secret, as Sony is yet to reveal these crucial details about the next-gen console.
- Reports say Sony might unveil the new console at some point in May, assuming the coronavirus health crisis allows such events to take place.
- Meanwhile, designers have come up with their own PlayStation 5 design concepts, using the newly announced DualSense controller as inspiration.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Sony will unveil the PlayStation 5 design at some point in the coming months, a report said a few days ago. That’s one of the few remaining PS5 mysteries left. Sony already revealed the full specs sheet of the next-gen PlayStation as well as the novel design of the DualSense controller, catching up to Microsoft’s Xbox Series X big marketing push. However, the PS5 design, price, and release date haven’t been revealed. And we’re yet to see any actual demos of the hardware. People familiar with Sony’s plans said the company might announce the PS5 in all its splendor next May, but nothing is certain at this point. It’s unclear when the social distancing measures caused by the novel coronavirus health crisis will be lifted. And gatherings of people, such as a PlayStation reveal event, might not be allowed for some time to come. While Sony isn’t ready to show the PS5 console to the world, designers keep making their own. The latest PS5 concept is modeled based on the DualSense controller, the only PS5 hardware Sony showed to date.

Netflix just fixed a problem you didn’t realize you had
- Netflix quietly rolled out a small user interface change for its mobile app that will make accidental screen taps a thing of the past.
- Called Screen Lock, the new feature will help you avoid accidental touches, and could come in handy in a variety of instances.
- The screen lock button is not available on the iPhone and iPad for the time being.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Netflix has just rolled out a new feature for its mobile app that fixes a problem you may not have realized you had. The video interface now comes with a handy button called Screen Lock that does exactly what you suspect. Tap it and continue watching content without worrying about accidental taps that would pause the clip or scrub the video. The feature might be targeting a special set of Netflix users, the ones who’re most likely to touch the display by mistake or intentionally. That’s young children, who’re not trained on using phones, and who’re more likely than ever to want to touch the screen while their favorite cartoon is playing.

This is the Sun like you’ve never seen it before
- NASA’s Hi-C 2.1 telescope captured the Sun’s tiny plasma threads in never-before-seen detail.
- The threads make up the coronal loops that twist out of the star, and the smallest of the threads measures around 200 km wide.
- The researchers say we need a more powerful solar observatory if we are to learn more of the Sun’s secrets.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Images captured by NASA’s High-Resolution Coronal Imager (Hi-C for short) reveal new secrets about our Sun and the surprisingly intricate processes constantly happening in its outermost layers. With levels of detail never before attainable by Sun-gazing hardware, the images point to delicate flows of energy in our star’s atmosphere.
As ScienceNews reports, the images are the subject of a new research paper published in The Astrophysical Journal, and they are shedding new light on coronal loops. Coronal loops are massive, curved pillars of plasma that are generated by the Sun’s powerful magnetic forces. Thanks to these sharper-than-ever images of the loops, we can see that they’re actually made up of many tiny “threads.”

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ might kill a major Marvel character
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn took to Instagram to answer fans’ questions, and that’s where he revealed that someone will die in the upcoming Marvel film.
- It’s unclear which character will perish, however, as the question wasn’t specific enough.
- The director also confirmed there won’t be a fourth film in the series, as he always planned to make a trilogy.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
What makes Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame so great is the sense of danger. The former makes it clear early on that people might die, and that the stakes are real. By the time it finishes, you’re left with only half of your favorite heroes standing, and they’ve all been defeated. The others have been turned to dust, but it’s immediately clear that it will all be fixed in the next Avengers installment. But it’s also obvious that whatever the Avengers will have to do to save everyone else might come at tremendous cost.
That cost, we learned a year after Infinity War premiered, was the death of Black Widow and Iron Man, and the retirement of Captain America. But these aren’t the only Avengers that will leave the team in future films, and the next meaningful death might come in the next few years in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

New ‘Animal Crossing’ features spoiled by the game’s code
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched for the Nintendo Switch on March 20th, 2020.
- There have been several minor updates for Animal Crossing since then, but a data mine reveals that a number of brand new features might be in the works.
- New Horizons will be receiving an update in late April for Earth Day.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was always going to be a huge hit for Nintendo, but its release just so happened to coincide with the declaration of a pandemic that is forcing everyone to stay inside. In light of the coronavirus, it’s not surprising that New Horizons has become an international phenomenon, but a month out from launch, the only big change that players have seen in the game was the Bunny Day event that occurred over Easter.
Nintendo has already revealed that Earth Day will be celebrated in-game as well, but there appear to be some major additions in the works that could see the light of day soon as well. Twitter user Ninji dug into New Horizons and found a number of features and characters that have yet to be seen in the game. It’s worth noting that nothing Ninji reveals is guaranteed to be added, but we could see some of these features as early as this week.
