Motorola will finally reveal a new flagship phone on April 22nd

Motorola announced on Monday that it will reveal its next flagship smartphone on April 22nd.
Motorola was expected to show off the Edge+ at Mobile World Congress 2020, but the February event was canceled due to fears surrounding the novel coronavirus.
In addition to the Edge+, Motorola is also expected to announce a midrange Edge device.

It’s been three years since Motorola launched the Moto Z2 Force, but it’s been even longer since the brand was truly relevant. Other than the foldable Razr that came out in February, Motorola hasn’t made headlines very often since it was sold to Lenovo in 2014. But after an extended absence, the company will attempt to make a splash this month with the reveal of a flagship phone that will compete with the iPhone 11 and Galaxy S20.

On Monday, Motorola announced that it will be hosting a “Flagship Launch E-vent” on April 22nd at 11 AM CDT. The Motorola Edge+ will presumably be the main attraction, as the phone was initially expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February before the novel coronavirus necessitated the cancellation of the event. In the weeks since, the phone has leaked extensively, and Motorola might be out of surprises by next week.

CDC: Coronavirus might travel up to 13 feet in the air

A new study published on the CDC’s coronavirus website says the SARS-CoV-2 virus can travel up to 13 feet in the air.
The study showed that several everyday objects in hospitals contained traces of the virus from COVID-19 patients and medical staff.
Coronavirus traces were found on the soles of doctors’ shoes and in the pharmacy of the hospital where there were no patients.

Social distancing guidelines for the novel coronavirus differ depending on who you ask. The World Health Organization (WHO) says you should stay 3 feet (1 meter) away from others to minimize the risk of infection. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends double that, or 6 feet (2 meters).

The idea is that the further you distance yourself from other people, the less likely it is that you will come in contact with virus-laden droplets from their saliva that can be ejected while coughing, talking, eating, etc. But according to a new study from China published on the CDC’s website, viral particles were discovered some 13 feet (4 meters) away from patients inside a hospital with controlled airflow.

Coronavirus patients who lost their sense of smell are waiting weeks for it to return.
Loss of smell from respiratory infections is not uncommon, but how and why some patients lose the ability to smell, and for how long, puzzles doctors.
Some patients reported a loss of smell and taste as the only symptoms of the viral infection.

Ever since the first weeks of the novel coronavirus outbreak, doctors and health experts have been searching for ways to differentiate the COVID-19 illness from similar seasonal sicknesses. Some patients who were confirmed to have a coronavirus infection had lost their sense of smell, which is a symptom that is rarely associated with the common cold but is sometimes present with the flu.

It’s one of several factors doctors are taking into account when diagnosing new patients and determining who should get tested. As CNN reports, some coronavirus victims have been waiting for their sense of smell to return for weeks, and fears of permanent loss of smell are spreading.

‘Resident Evil 4’ remake: Here’s everything we know so far

Following the success of the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes, Capcom is said to be working on a remake of the highest-rated entry in the series: Resident Evil 4.
Resident Evil 4 remake reportedly began production in 2018 and release is planned for 2022.
Resident Evil 8 will launch before the Resident Evil 4 remake comes out.

Remasters of old video games can sometimes feel like cheap cash grabs, but over the last two years, we have seen developers take classic titles and completely rebuild them from the ground up, to the point where they’re hardly even recognizable as remakes. Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII remake is being lauded as one of the best games of 2020, and it launched just seven days after Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 remake, which has also been well received.

But few game studios, if any, have made remakes as much of a priority as Capcom. Resident Evil 2 was the top-rated game of 2019, Resident Evil 3 somehow launched just 15 months later, and now Video Games Chronicle reports that the studio is working on a Resident Evil 4 remake that has an estimated release window of 2022.

Apple’s new Pro Display XDR is finally back in stock at Amazon, but it’s well outside most people’s budgets thanks to a starting price of $5,000… which doesn’t even include the $1,000 stand.
Thankfully, Amazon has plenty of great alternatives that are available at much more reasonable prices, and we’ve rounded up our five favorite options that are in stock now or set to be back in stock this week.

We’re well into April and the coronavirus is still raging across America. Just this weekend, the number of coronavirus cases in the United States surpassed 550,000. Meanwhile, the cumulative number of coronavirus-related deaths in the U.S. now exceeds 22,000. To put that figure into context, the U.S. now has more coronavirus deaths than any other country in the world.

The good news is that the coronavirus may be peaking in a number of U.S. cities, including New York City which has long been the epicenter of the coronavirus in the country.

Let me tell you a little story about the time many, many years ago that I was running late for a big family dinner in downtown Manhattan. We have some good news: some experts believe that the novel coronavirus outbreak in the United States will finally start getting better in the weeks to come.
