Just a few of the many highlights include AirPods Pro back down to the lowest price ever, DIY coronavirus face mask supplies that are finally back in stock on Amazon (see our earlier post to learn how to make DIY coronavirus face masks), Amazon’s legendary Fire TV Stick 4K at an all-time low of just $24.99 for a few lucky customers (more details here), a top-rated fast wireless charging pad for just $5.09, the lowest price of all time on the all-new Echo smart speaker, $10 off a sonic toothbrush that cleans itself with UV light when you’re not using it, a waterproof portable Bluetooth speaker for only $10.99 with coupon code WNHWFYTG, an exclusive deal on wireless noise cancelling headphones for just $33.99 if you use coupon code BGRCE060, 3 months of Xbox Game Pass Unlimited for free when you buy a 3-month code, and much more.
Those are all fantastic deals, but they’re a bit lacking when it comes to one popular brand in particular. That’s right, we’re talking about Apple since there’s only one product on that whole list from the Cupertino company. Sure, it’s an all-time low price on the incredibly popular AirPods Pro noise cancelling earphones, but what about all of Apple’s other devices? It just so happens that Best Buy is running a big blowout sale on Apple products that’s about to come to an end. Surprise sale: Amazon’s Echo speakers just got even deeper discounts

- Prices during sale start at just $19.99 for all of Amazon’s most popular Alexa-powered devices.
- The best-selling device of all the ones covered in Amazon’s big week-long sale is the Echo Show 8, which normally costs $130 but is on sale right now for only $89.99.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Whether you live in the thick of the hottest hot zone in New York, NY or you’re situated in a rural area in the middle of the country somewhere, your life has been affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic. It’s unavoidable. If you’re smart, you’re hunkered down and staying indoors in your home and you’re only going out when you absolutely need to. That’s right, we said indoors — a recent study suggests that it’s shockingly easy to catch COVID-19 if you’re too close to other people, even outdoors.
If you don’t have a way to get groceries delivered in your area or if delivery time slots are all booked, you have no choice but to go out for groceries. There are other times you might need to go out as well, like to help someone in isolation who is elderly or has special needs. You should absolutely not be going out for nonessential goods though, and the fact that Amazon stopped shipping many nonessentials definitely complicates things for people. Lucky for us, there are still some nonessentials that are shipping from Amazon, and there are even killer deals available on some of Amazon’s best-selling products.
Amazon has been offering deals on different product lines from its various Amazon Device lineups each week, and this week’s sale covers Echo speakers and Echo Show displays. They’ve been on sale all week like we said, but on Friday Amazon decided to cut the prices of its Echo speakers even further! And since it’s Friday, this week’s sale is also almost over so it’s your last chance for a while to pick up a discounted Echo Dot as well as several other Echo speakers and Echo Show smart displays.
Echo Dot (3rd Gen) – Smart speaker with Alexa – Charcoal: $29.99
The Echo Dot is Amazon’s best-selling smart speaker ever. It gives you access to Alexa for a fraction of what Amazon charges for other Echo speakers. That price is regularly just $50, but this week’s limited-time cuts your cost to just $29.99. You’ll also find two more deals on Alexa speakers that are the biggest discounts of the year. The $100 Echo speaker is down to just $59.99, which is a savings of $20. Then there’s the upgraded Echo Plus, which is on sale for $99.99 instead of $150. Finally, you can get the entry-level Echo Flex that fits anywhere for only $19.99.
Echo (3rd Gen) – Smart speaker with Alexa – Twilight Blue: $59.99
Echo Plus (2nd Gen) – Premium sound with built-in smart home hub – Charcoal: $99.99
Echo Flex – Plug-in mini smart speaker with Alexa: $19.99
If you want an Alexa device that also has a display so you can ask Alexa to show you things, you’ll find that all three of Amazon’s Echo Show devices are also discounted this week. The $90 Echo Show 5 is on sale for $59.99, the $130 Echo Show 8 is down to $89.99 — that’s the best selling device in Amazon’s entire Echo sale this week — and the flagsip Echo Show with a 10.1-inch HD display is down to $99.99 instead of $150.
Echo Show 5 – stay connected and in touch with Alexa – Charcoal: $59.99
Echo Show 8 – HD 8″ smart display with Alexa – Charcoal: $89.99
Echo Show (2nd Gen) – stay connected and in touch with Alexa – Charcoal: $179.99

The 5 best-selling electronics devices on Amazon’s entire site
- Amazon’s best-sellers lists are great ways not only to see which devices on Amazon’s site are most popular, but also to find the best deals on Amazon at any given time.
- That’s particularly important now, since Amazon’s deal page is hidden while the company shifts focus away from nonessential goods.
- Here, we dig into Amazon’s current best-sellers in the electronics category to see what people are buying for their coronavirus quarantines.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Amazon is the biggest online retailer in the country, so people were obviously taken aback when the company announced a major policy change last month. While it’s only temporary, Amazon said that it would stop restocking many nonessential products in its warehouses and that shipping of many nonessential products would be delayed until at least late April. It’s not ideal considering responsible Americans across the country are doing everything they can to stay home and not go out to buy nonessentials. That said, it’s impossible to fault Amazon for it since the reason for the move is to free up as much capacity as possible for shipping medical supplies to hospitals and local governments.
Despite the temporary halt on many nonessential shipments, there are still plenty of non-medical products that are being restocked and delivered regularly. For example, Apple’s insanely popular AirPods Pro are shipping immediately at the lowest price ever, and both AirPods 2 models are discounted as well and available for immediate delivery. AirPods are very popular, of course, but they’re not among the best-selling electronics devices on Amazon right now. Wondering what is? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
5. Echo Smart Speaker (3rd-Generation)
All of Amazon’s Alexa smart speakers and smart displays are on sale this week with solid discounts, so it’s easy to see why they occupy four of the five spots on the current list of Amazon’s best-selling electronics. The 3rd-gen Echo Smart Speaker typically sells for $100, but right now you can pick one up for $59.99.
Echo (3rd Gen)- Smart speaker with Alexa- Charcoal: $59.99
4. Fire HD 10 Tablet
The only best-seller in Amazon’s electronics section right now that isn’t an Echo speaker or Echo Show display is the all-new Fire HD 10 Tablet, and it’s easy to see why. You get a tablet that’s just as good as an iPad but for half the price!
All-New Fire HD 10 Tablet (10.1″ 1080p full HD display, 32 GB) – Black: $149.99
3. Echo Dot with Clock
Everyone knows the Echo Dot and everyone loves the Echo Dot, and now there’s a hot new version that adds another great feature to Amazon’s top-selling Alexa smart speaker. As the name suggests, the Echo Dot with Clock is an Echo Dot… with a clock! It’s $60 normally, but right now it’s on sale for $39.99.
Echo Dot (3rd Gen) – Smart speaker with clock and Alexa – Sandstone: $39.99
2. Echo Dot
The $50 Echo Dot is one of Amazon’s best-selling devices of all time, and a big part of the reason why is because it often goes on sale for even less than $50. Grab one or more today, and you’ll pay $29.99 apiece for Amazon’s most popular Alexa speaker.
Echo Dot (3rd Gen) – Smart speaker with Alexa – Plum: $29.99
1. Echo Show 8
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the Echo Show 8 is the single best-selling product in the electronics category this week at Amazon. It’s awesome, the screen is nice and big, and it’s so cool to ask Alexa to show you things that you’re then able to see right away, but it’s also a $130 smart display that’s on sale right now for just $89.99!
Echo Show 8 – HD 8″ smart display with Alexa – Charcoal: $89.99

Every show on Netflix, TV, and more that’s ending or being canceled in 2020
- Not every show can be a winner, even for platforms like Netflix that are known far and wide for creating some of the best series ever.
- Dozens of shows are being canceled over the course of the year in 2020, and many more popular shows are coming to an end.
- Here, we cover every show on TV, Netflix, and other popular streaming services that will disappear at the end of the year.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
All good things must come to an end. And all bad things must come to an end even sooner. 2020 marks the end of the road for a ton of high-profile series on TV and streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and more. In fact, there are so many shows that are already confirmed to be ending this year that we decided to round them all up so you can see the full list in one place. As of the time of this writing, dozens of shows have been canceled following a final season set to air in 2020. Some are popular shows that are still successful but have come to a natural end, like The Good Place and Bojack Horseman. Others just couldn’t gather enough steam to continue, like Netflix’s Spinning Out and Sweetbitter on Starz. And a few series coming to an end this year are long-running shows that simply don’t have anywhere else to go, like The CW’s Supernatural and CBS’s Criminal Minds, both of which will be sunsetted after their fifteenth seasons in 2020. Those are just some of the 43 different TV series that are scheduled to end this year.

We need to tell you about this secret Fire TV Stick 4K sale
- Amazon isn’t currently advertising any deals on its streaming media players — in fact, Amazon’s daily deals page is now hidden but we recently told you how to find it.
- Even if you do make your way to that page and to the many deals sections linked therein, you still won’t find the secret, unadvertised sale that Amazon is running right now on the Fire TV Stick 4K.
- A select group of people can buy Amazon’s 4K streaming dongle for just $24.99 using the coupon code 4KFIRETV, but the deal isn’t available to everyone.
- If you can’t get that deal, there’s another sale available to everyone that’s almost as good.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Amazon has been offering great deals on its various Amazon device lineups for the past few weeks, which comes as something of a surprise since the company recently shifted its attention away from “nonessential” products. This way, Amazon can free up warehouse space and shipping capacity for important products like face masks and sanitizers, which are currently only available to ship to hospitals and government buyers.
Well, apparently Amazon devices are essential because we haven’t seen very many shipping delays at all on Amazon’s various device lines. In fact, the company has continued to offer new deals all the time, focusing mainly on a different Amazon device category each week. This week, Echo smart speakers and Echo Show displays are the focus and you’ll find plenty of solid discounts such as an Echo Dot for $39.99 or $40 off the Echo Show 8. But there’s one special deal you won’t find anywhere on that page or anywhere else, and it might just be the hottest deal on Amazon’s entire site right now.
If you’re one of the lucky people eligible to get in on the action based on Amazon’s unknown criteria, you can slash the price of the $50 Fire TV Stick 4K down to just $24.99. That is not a typo. It’s the lowest price ever for a 4K Fire TV Stick, matching Amazon’s deal from Prime Day 2019. As we mentioned, the only problem is that not everyone is eligible for this deal. Go to the Fire TV Stick 4K page on Amazon’s website and if you get lucky, you might see a note under the $49.99 price that looks like this:
Now, it’s important to note that you need to give this deal a shot even if you don’t see that note because the special coupon might still work. Drop a Fire TV Stick 4K into your cart and use the promo code 4KFIRETV at checkout. If you’re eligible for the deal, the price will drop to $24.99. If you’re not eligible for the deal, you’ll see a message that the coupon code is not valid — but don’t get too upset because we’ve got another Fire TV Stick 4K deal for you down below.
Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device with Alexa built in, Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, includes the Ale…: $24.99 (use code 4KFIRETV)
First, you can read about the aforementioned offer on Amazon’s terms and conditions page right here:
This is a limited time offer. Qualifying customers only. Amazon reserves the right to modify or cancel the offer at any time. Offer good while supplies last. Offer only applies to Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote, streaming media player sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC. Shipping charges and taxes may apply to discounted items. Offer limited to one per customer and account. Offer is non-transferable, may not be resold, and may not be combined with other offers. To redeem this offer, please enter the promo code during checkout. Promotional code valid until 11:59 p.m. (PT) December 31, 2020. If any of the products related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product, subject to applicable refund policies.
Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device with Alexa built in, Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, includes the Ale…: $24.99 (use code 4KFIRETV)
Now, if the coupon mentioned above doesn’t work for you, there’s actually another good deal that anyone can take advantage of. Just buy two Fire TV Stick 4K players and you’ll receive a $20 Amazon credit when you receive and activate them. That essentially cuts the Fire TV Stick 4K to the same price as the entry-level Fire TV Stick, which isn’t too shabby at all. Here are the terms and conditions for this separate Fire TV deal that’s available to anyone.

Google’s messaging apps just got more confusing: Meet and Chat
- Google rebranded two Hangouts apps that handle video conferencing and instant messaging. They’ll be known as Google Meet and Google Chat going forward.
- However, the Hangouts brand won’t disappear, as the consumer version of Hangouts will stay in place.
- G Suite users, meanwhile, will be able to enjoy premium Meet features until September 30th.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
iMessage and FaceTime. These two default iPhone apps are some of Apple’s best mobile apps to date. The former is really what will keep you glued to your iPhone for years, even if Android might look exciting. They’re also a reminder of Google’s spectacular failure to replicate them. For years, Google tried to come up with an iMessage rival and kept launching chat app after chat app to get it done. It did the same thing with video chat apps, confusing users in the process. If you think you’ve finally got everything figured out, between Hangouts, RCS, and Duo, then you’re wrong. Prepare to get used to Google Meet and Google Chat. They’re not new Goole apps, they’re just replacing Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat. The new Google Chat is not to be confused with the existing Google Chat that might handle RCS texting on your Android phone. Also, Hangouts isn’t just going to go away. You’ll still need it.

Galaxy S20 successor might be Samsung’s first phone with a perfect design
- Samsung’s Galaxy S20 successor might be Samsung’s first phone to feature a perfect all-screen design.
- A leaker claims the Galaxy S21 will have an under-screen selfie camera that would eliminate the hole-punch design compromise.
- Several handset vendors are also working on the same tech for all-screen smartphone designs.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Launched in mid-February, the Galaxy S20 is one of the most interesting Android phones of the year. It packs a great all-screen design and incredible specs, particularly on the Ultra version. It also comes with built-in 5G support, and that’s why it has a much higher entry price than expected. Samsung has already started offering several notable Galaxy S20 promos, as sales haven’t been spectacular, with the unexpected coronavirus health crisis having delivered a huge blow to smartphone sales this year. One deal is particularly exciting, as it comes with a buy-back guarantee that’s valid for 24 months. You’ll have to pay full price for the handset, but Samsung will return 50% of the money if you trade-in the phone at any point in the coming months. And this first rumor about the Galaxy S20’s successor is certainly the kind of leak that could convince you to upgrade to the next Galaxy S model as soon as next year.

Watch Jeff Bezos visit an Amazon warehouse and Whole Foods store wearing a face mask
- Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos made a surprise visit to an Amazon fulfillment center in recent days, as well as a Whole Foods store, which is the upscale grocery chain Amazon also owns.
- In the video below, he can be seen wearing a face mask, getting his temperature checked, and practicing social distancing.
- Bezos’ visit comes as Amazon workers have demanded better working conditions and benefits as the coronavirus crisis drags on.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
In the wake of employee protests and some workers even staging walkouts to demand better working conditions and pay as the coronavirus pandemic drags on, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos donned a disposable face mask and made a surprise visit to an Amazon fulfillment center as well as an Amazon-owned Whole Food store.
Amazon shared video of the episode via Twitter late Wednesday, during which Bezos can be seen striding up to a warehouse worker to get his temperature checked before proceeding through the rest of the facility. It’s an almost dystopian sight as he interacts with employees from beyond his mask — and from at least six feet away, per social distancing guidelines — and waves, shouts out greetings, and brandishes a thumbs-up.

The Trump administration might start reopening the country on May 1
- With glimmers of hope starting to emerge in the coronavirus case and death data we’re seeing on a nationwide scale across the US, the Trump administration is starting to consider May 1 as the point at which they’d push for the country to start reopening.
- That’s according to a new report Thursday, which provides a window into the timeframe with which the administration will answer the question on everyone’s mind right now as the coronavirus pandemic lingers: When will all this end?
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories
It’s the question everyone who’s been lucky enough to remain healthy during the coronavirus pandemic wants to know: When will all this end? More to the point, how much longer do we have to stay hunkered down at home, with businesses temporarily shuttered until the most acute danger from the virus has passed? Well, as of Thursday, it seems an answer to the question is starting to materialize — in the form of a specific timeframe.
Buoyed by new more-optimistic-than-expected projections that the death toll in the US from the virus may come well short of the 100,000 to 240,000 deaths the administration’s latest modeling showed (somewhere closer to 60,000 is the number being talked about now) reports have started to circulate that some Trump administration officials see this as ammunition to support the president’s goal of reopening the country quickly. Per Axios, May 1 is starting to be looked at as the date for that process to begin.

NASA famously sent the first humans to the Moon many decades ago, but years later the space agency seemed to lose interest in Earth’s tiny neighbor. It’s only recently that NASA has appeared to go all-in on lunar exploration and investigation, ultimately hoping to use the Moon and an orbiting gateway as a jumping-off point for missions deeper into space.
Now, with a crewed Moon mission still in the works for 2024, NASA scientists are exploring all kinds of wild and interesting concepts. One such concept is featured in a new blog post by Saptarshi Bandyopadhyay of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In the post, Bandyopadhyay explains how it might be possible to use a lunar crater as a radio telescope, provided we can send the right pieces of hardware to the far side of the Moon.
