Video captures an Amazon delivery man spitting on a package
- With the coronavirus pandemic still raging, an Amazon delivery man was caught spitting on a customer’s package before leaving it at the door.
- Footage of the incident was captured via Amazon Ring.
- Purposefully trying to spread the coronavirus can be categorized as an act of terrorism according to a recent memo from the U.S. Department of Justice.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
An Amazon delivery man was fired after video captured from a customer’s front door showed him deliberately spitting on a package he was tasked with dropping off. The video would have been revolting even a year ago, but given that we’re currently in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic that is only growing more serious by the day, his behavior is arguably criminal. Indeed, you may recall that a woman in Pennsylvania who purposefully coughed on $35,000 worth of food in a grocery store last week was arrested for her behavior.
The spitting incident in question went down in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles a few days ago and, interestingly enough, was captured via the homeowner’s Amazon Ring. According to a post on social media, the homeowner only went back to check the video footage after noticing the box was wet.

- Coronavirus symptoms in children can include cold-like symptoms such as fever, runny nose, and cough, according to the CDC.
- Severe COVID-19 cases have been rare in kids, but teens as young as 14 have died from the disease.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
You often hear that it’s the elderly and immunocompromised who are the most at risk of experiencing a severe, possibly critical case of COVID-19. But everyone else can be infected and pass on the novel coronavirus to others, even children of any age. That’s why it’s essential to keep your kids at home, including teenagers, for as long as possible during the outbreak. You should also keep an eye on symptoms that may suggest a coronavirus infection, and ensure they get proper treatment.

You’re going to have to wait until Wednesday this week for new content on Netflix, but the good news is that there will be a ton of content to look forward to when it does finally arrive. A whopping 47 movies and shows are coming to the streaming service this week, including a few massive blockbusters like The Matrix, The Hangover, and The Social Network. Other highlights include all six seasons of Community, all four Lethal Weapon films, and the fourth season of Money Heist, which might very well be our own Yoni Heisler’s favorite Netflix original of all time.

WHO to launch coronavirus app for iPhone and Android
- The World Health Organization will release an official coronavirus information app for iPhone, Android, and the web.
- The WHO MyHealth app will launch on March 30th and will include all the information the organization already pushes to its official WhatsApp chatbot.
- The first version of the app will provide self-diagnose help and assistance, while future releases might help combat the spread of epidemics.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Combating misinformation campaigns meant to spread fear and uncertainty about the novel coronavirus is just as important as staying indoors for as long as possible and washing your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds as often as you can. That’s why websites such as Google’s COVID-19 site are a great resource for staying updated on the coronavirus facts and developments.
But even Google sources its information from various authoritative organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Those two will provide all the COVID-19 information you need, including symptoms and guidance on what to do if you’re infected, so it’s a good idea to have them bookmarked. WHO access is going to get even better in the weeks to come, though, thanks to an official coronavirus app that the organization will launch on iPhone, Android, and the web.

Cybersecurity experts join forces to thwart coronavirus-related hacking
- Coronavirus scams and hacking efforts are on the rise.
- In response, more than 400 cybersecurity experts have joined forces to tackle the problem.
- The group’s primary objective is to prevent hospitals from getting infected with ransomware.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
One of the more infuriating aspects involving the coronavirus pandemic is that hackers and scam artists have been trying to use the crisis to bilk innocent victims out of their hard-earned money. Especially at a time when unemployment is at an all-time high and many people are struggling to make ends meet, the fact that hackers are still going at it is beyond revolting.
Aside from run-of-the-mill scams involving scammers calling up people and offering fake coronavirus testing kits, there are also reports that cyberattacks in general, and phishing attempts in particular, have skyrocketed over the past few weeks. Some brazen folks have even engaged in phishing efforts by sending out emails designed to look as if they’re official notices from the World Health Organization. Even more problematic are attempts from hackers to install ransomware on hospital computer systems.

Very good boys are being trained to sniff out coronavirus cases
- Coronavirus testing might look a lot different in crowded areas if this trial project is successful: Scientists from the UK are looking to see if dogs can recognize patients by a particular smell.
- Dogs have already been trained to sniff out other medical conditions, including cancer, malaria, and Parkinson’s.
- Dogs able to recognize a particular smell for COVID-19 patients could help authorities prevent transmission in crowded places and prevent future outbreaks.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
Extensive testing for the novel coronavirus is a crucial weapon against the pandemic, as seen in countries like South Korea, which was able to significantly flatten the curve, and Germany, which is testing an average of 500,000 people a week. COVID-19 screening can help authorities get a better picture of the number of active cases in hot zones, and provide early care to everyone testing positive, especially the elderly and those with preexisting health conditions.
The problem many countries have to face is that there aren’t enough test kits to go around. But what if dogs could sniff out people who are infected and pinpoint them in a crowd?

While you’re quarantined at home, ‘tour’ the world with these fascinating livestreams
- The United States is now home to more than 122,000 coronavirus cases, according to Johns Hopkins University — the most of any country in the world.
- Social distancing and staying at home are among the best tools we have right now for preventing the spread of the virus and our healthcare system from being overrun.
- Just because you’re stuck at home, though, doesn’t mean you can’t still explore a bit of the world. Check out these livestreams from cities around the globe which will hopefully give a little taste of what you can explore once we get a handle on the virus and travel bans start to be lifted.
- Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.
You might not realize it, but while we’re all quarantined at home and hunkering down to ride out the COVID-19 coronavirus that’s caused so much chaos around the world, there are actually tons of ways you can entertain yourself and see a bit of the world outside to make the whole thing a bit more bearable. We told you just the other day, for example, about how you can virtually “tour” a number of iconic museums around the world — from the British Museum in London to the Guggenheim in New York City — without even leaving your couch, and in this post you’ll find links to livestreams, below, that you can enjoy to get a real-time look at what’s happening in a variety of cities right now around the world. Cities like Buenas Aires and Tokyo that are pretty expensive to travel to and that you might not have had any plans to visit anytime soon (pre-coronavirus, of course).
