Galaxy Fold 2 leaks have been circulating for months, and these new renders give us an idea of how Samsung might be changing the design for 2020.
The original Galaxy Fold was an exciting proof-of-concept, but not a great smartphone.
With the Galaxy Fold 2, Samsung might be looking to release a phone that is both forward-looking and usable as a daily driver the way the Galaxy S20 is.

When the Galaxy Fold was unveiled last February, it captured the imagination of countless consumers all around the world who were excited to see the next evolution of the handheld device. The design wasn’t perfect, but it was poised to be the first mass-market phone with a foldable display in history. Samsung was given some slack, but when critics finally got their hands on the foldable, reports of hardware issues sprung up almost immediately, and Samsung was forced to indefinitely delay the phone, which was originally set to launch on April 26th.

When the Galaxy Fold finally did launch on September 6th in South Korea, the reaction was fairly muted. There was no question that Samsung had achieved something impressive, but the odd design and the bulk of the phone made it a non-starter for the average consumer. Now the question is whether or not Samsung can learn from its mistakes and release a Galaxy Fold 2 that people might actually want to use as their daily driver.

Don’t expect your coronavirus stimulus check from the Trump administration until May

The US Senate has now put the finishing touches on a $2 trillion coronavirus-related stimulus plan that includes the Trump administration sending out recovery rebates to affected Americans in the form of $1,200 and $2,400 checks.
The checks are a result of the novel coronavirus impact on the economy, which has been profound and left millions of Americans with no income right now as a result of business closures or their hours being dramatically cut back.
The checks are expected to go out in May.

As expected, federal lawmakers have now finished hashing out the details of a massive, $2 trillion stimulus deal meant to provide a salve for some of the disastrous economic consequences of the novel coronavirus outbreak in the US. Among the most important components of the plan are the direct checks providing emergency cash from the Trump administration that will be sent out to Americans, to quickly put money back in the pockets of people who’ve been laid off or seen their hours cut as a result of us all being forced to hunker down at home because of the spread of the virus.

Per the terms of the stimulus plan, single Americans would get $1,200 while married couples get $2,400, with parents also getting an additional $500 for each of their children under the age of 18. And while that might sound like welcome news to Americans left fraught with anxiety about the future because of the damage this virus has caused, don’t celebrate just yet — it’s likely those checks won’t start going out until May, based on past precedence.

Coronavirus vaccine researchers just delivered some great news

Scientists studying the genetics of the novel coronavirus are hopeful that a vaccine can have long-lasting effects, as the virus isn’t mutating as much as the flu, which needs a new vaccine every year.
The research varies depending on the test population. Researchers in the US found just a few mutations while geneticists from Iceland reported more mutations that make the virus more contagious, but not more dangerous.
Separately, a Singaporean laboratory has developed tech that can help scientists track the mutations of the COVID-19 virus and asses the effects of vaccine candidates faster than before.

The novel coronavirus pandemic has claimed the lives of nearly 20,000 people out of the more than 438,000 confirmed cases registered at the time of this writing, and it’s not stopping anytime soon. There’s no miracle cure for COVID-19, although several therapies have shown promises in limited studies and are now part of an extensive WHO megatrial. And there’s no vaccine either, although more than 20 of them are in the works. A vaccine is the only cure that can prevent COVID-19, and at least two of them are already in clinical trials — including one in the US right now. While health workers might get the vaccine as soon as this fall if all goes well, most people won’t be inoculated until around 18 months from now, at the soonest, which seems like a long time to wait. However, there’s more good news from researchers who are studying the virus. Unlike the flu, which needs a new vaccine every year, the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine might have long-lasting efficacy.
