Does anyone remember calling your friends on the phone and chatting about shows while TV together? I used to do it all the time, and hopefully I’m not dating myself too much with that admission. Then, after they’re done watching, they might chat about the show with friends and family at some later point in time. There’s obviously nothing wrong with that, but the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak changes things a bit. Businesses are closed, schools are closed, and everyone is being asked to self-quarantine in an effort to slow the spread of the deadly virus. Of course, people can still communicate with the outside world in any number of ways while cooped up in their homes, but communicating and having shared experiences aren’t the same thing.

Well, bargain hunters… this is a surprising turn of events that we definitely didn’t see coming. Amazon announced last week that it would stop restocking nonessential items and focus mainly on essentials like medical supplies in light of the novel coronavirus outbreak that’s sweeping across the United States and much of the rest of the world. That’s certainly an understandable move, and Amazon said it would last at least a few weeks into April. It would appear as though Apple earphones have been deemed essential though, because Amazon just restocked all three different models and slashed the entry-level AirPods back down to their all-time lowest price from Black Friday last year.

Head over to Amazon right now and you’ll find AirPods 2 on sale for just $129, a big $30 discount from the $159 you’ll pay for them if you order a pair from Apple. This is the latest version of Apple’s popular true wireless earbuds and you won’t find a better deal anywhere. In fact, you won’t even find the same deal anywhere else, since other retailers currently offering them at a discount are charging either $139 or $149.

If you want to add wireless charging into the mix, you’ll find that Apple’s AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case are also on sale right now at Amazon, and you can save the same $30 on that pair. That means instead of paying $199 like you would at Apple, you’ll only have to cough up $169.

In spite of the pandemic that has taken over all our lives, some things never change, such as the frequency of iPhone leaks.
