This might be the PS5 user interface of your dreams

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Sony hasn’t scheduled any PlayStation 5 announcement event, nor has it released any new PS5 details this year — comparatively, Microsoft a few days ago unveiled the Xbox Series X’s main specs and features.
  • The PS5 design and full specs sheet aren’t the only things gamers might be waiting for anxiously. The console’s new user interface should also be an exciting PS5 feature.
  • A few gamers have created PS5 UI concepts based on some of Sony’s existing PS5 announcements, as well as other apps that offer user quick access to content.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

You might be wondering whether Sony has announced anything about any plans to unveil the PlayStation 5, but the answer is the same. Sony isn’t ready to tell us anything new about the console, and Microsoft is the huge winner of this set. Sony may have been the first to unveil its next-gen console’s name — it wasn’t going to be anything but PS5 — and some of its specs. But Microsoft came out on top when it comes to showing the actual design of the new Xbox Series X and revealing most of its specs. Microsoft hasn’t told us everything about the Xbox Series X though, and it hasn’t shown us everything either. We still need to know how much storage is on board on the new Xbox and what the rear ports can do. Not to mention that the new Xbox user interface is missing in action as well.

While Sony might be taking its time with the PS5 reveal, we’ve seen plenty of specs leaks so far, as well as a slew of Sony gaming patents that tell us Sony has great plans in mind for the future of gaming. We’ve also seen plenty of exciting PS5 design renders from PlayStation fans who have tried to imagine what the next-gen console might look like. With that in mind, it only makes sense to see PS5 UI concepts pop up. After all, the user interface of the PlayStation 5 is obviously more important and exciting than the console’s physical design.

Netflix’s $3 mobile streaming plan just launched in two new countries

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Netflix’s three streaming plans in the United States have received multiple price increases in recent years, but Netflix is headed in a different direction in other markets.
  • The company first began testing a special mobile-only streaming plan in India back in December 2018 before launching it last year for about $3 per month.
  • Now, this low-cost streaming plan is being made available in two additional markets, though it will likely never launch in the US.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Over the past few years, Netflix’s monthly plan prices have gotten more and more expensive. As of March 2020, Netflix’s Basic plan that includes lower-resolution streaming on one screen at a time costs $8.99 per month. The Netflix Standard plan that includes 1080p streaming on up to two simultaneous screens is $12.99 a month. Finally, Netflix’s Premium plan with 4K streaming, 1080p streaming, and support for up to four simultaneous streams climbed recently to $15.99 each month.

Ask anyone in the US who subscribes to Netflix and he or she will likely tell you that it’s worth every penny. Of that, there is precious little question. No other streaming media service offers as much content or as much high-quality original content as Netflix. In fact, Netflix is releasing a whopping 55 new original series, movies, and specials over the course of the month in March 2020 alone. As great as the service is, however, there are plenty of people who would love the opportunity to get a more limited streaming plan and pay less money each month. That option might never be made available in the US, but it does exist elsewhere.

NBA suspends season after idiot player jokes about COVID-19, then tests positive

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • The NBA suspends its season indefinitely over COVID-19.
  • A player from the Utah Jazz tested positive for the coronavirus infection, and the results came in shortly before Wednesday night’s games were scheduled to begin.
  • The league doesn’t know how long it will remain suspended.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

The NBA announced its current season is suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement comes after a Utah Jazz player tested positive for the virus. The results came shortly before some NBA games began on Wednesday night, forcing the NBA to halt its season with no clear end in sight.

The player, Rudy Gobert, was not present at the team’s scheduled game. The league, for the time being, is in lockdown mode. No games will be played until the NBA is confident that it can resume the season without further risk to the teams and fans.

Your smartphone sees where no other phone can with this crazy $29 wireless camera

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Amazon is running two terrific deals this week that slash popular wireless borescope camera models to their lowest prices of 2020.
  • Many people aren’t aware of what borescope inspection cameras are, but they’re actually among the most popular smartphone accessories we cover here at BGR Deals.
  • Using a wireless camera like this one, your smartphone can see just about anywhere thanks to a smart design that can be snaked inside even the tightest spaces.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Of all the gadgets and gizmos we’ve ever covered here on BGR Deals, there are two in particular that we get more positive feedback on than anything else. The first is Apple’s AirPods Pro, which are on sale right now on Amazon at their lowest price ever. So many people who snag them on sale thanks to our deals coverage email us to thank us, and to tell us how impressed they are with Apple’s sound quality and active noise cancelling technology. If you haven’t experienced them for yourself, definitely take advantage of Amazon’s current deal — and remember, they always ship out sooner than Amazon’s delivery estimate states.

The second product we always get positive feedback on is the Depstech WF010 Wireless Borescope Inspection Camera, which also happens to be on sale right now at its lowest price of 2020.

DEPSTECH Wireless Endoscope, IP67 Waterproof WiFi Borescope Inspection 2.0 Megapixels HD Snake…: $28.79

If you’ve never used one of these little gadgets before, you’re going to fall in love the moment you try it. The Depstech WF010 connects to your iPhone, iPad, Android phone, or Android tablet wirelessly using a direct Wi-Fi connection. The device itself is a small box with a long semi-rigid tube attached and a camera at the end. The tube and be bent to snake into just about any tight space you can imagine, and it’s also waterproof so you don’t have to worry about moisture. The camera at the end beams the picture back to your smartphone so you can see what’s going on, and you can also capture video or still photos.

On top of all that great functionality, this wireless inspection camera also comes with attachments that connect to the end where a camera is. A mirror attachment lets you see around corners, while hook and magnet attachments are perfect for fishing things like keys and jewelry out of tough spots. This popular model retails for $36, but a 20% coupon on Amazon slashes the price to $28.79 until the end of the day on Saturday.

DEPSTECH Wireless Endoscope, IP67 Waterproof WiFi Borescope Inspection 2.0 Megapixels HD Snake…: $28.79

If you love the idea but you want something even better, you’ll be happy to know that the upgraded version is also on sale right now. The Depstech WF060 Wireless Borescope Inspection Camera is 5 feet longer, it has a higher-resolution 5-megapixel camera instead of 2 megapixels, and it even has a zoom feature you can control from your smartphone. It normally sells for $66, but a 25% coupon on Amazon slashes that price down to an all-time low of $49.49.

2020’s first bitcoin bloodbath is here

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Bitcoin’s price flash-crashed from nearly $8,000 to about $5,650 in early Thursday trading, taking the entire cryptocurrency market along for the ride.
  • The sudden dip can easily be correlated with the panic on Wall Street, where the Dow futures took a massive 1,100 points dip early on Thursday over coronavirus pandemic concerns.
  • The COVID-19 pandemic and the oil price war might not be the only reasons Bitcoin’s price fell so sharply this week. Foul play from bitcoin whales is also suspected.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

The coronavirus outbreak seems out of control in some regions, with the World Health Organization having declared it a pandemic on Wednesday afternoon. Italy is on lockdown, as the local government is trying to reduce the number of infections and deaths at all costs. The number of cases in Italy surged from just a few to more than 12,000 in less than three weeks, and there are worries that other countries might follow the same trend. Similar measures might be required in other regions to prevent the potential collapse of local medical systems that are trying to keep those infected alive.

The worldwide economy is expected to take a huge hit, and that’s not actually news. Since the first weeks of the COVID-19 infections, there was talk of an imminent global recession caused by China’s lockdown. But now that the virus has engulfed Western countries including all of Europe and the US, investors have been in panic mode for the last few weeks. Dow futures just dropped 1,100 points following Donald Trump’s speech on Wednesday, and that’s not the only financial indicator that proves investors aren’t happy. The entire crypto ecosystem took a massive hit early on Thursday, with bitcoin trading down nearly 25% at the time of this writing. Bitcoin dropped as low as $5650 per bitcoin, a figure not seen since last May. The coronavirus panic might not be the only thing affecting the price of the world’s most prized cryptocurrency, however.

AirPods Pro price drop: This might be your last chance to get them at the all-time low

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Amazon is once again offering Apple’s extremely popular AirPods Pro true wireless noise cancelling earbuds at the lowest price ever, which was first seen on Black Friday last year.
  • In light of the novel coronavirus pandemic that continues to have a dramatic impact on manufacturing, this could be the last time Apple’s ANC earbuds go on sale at a discount.
  • Other AirPods models are also discounted right now on Amazon, including AirPods 2 with wireless charging, which are $80 off if you buy them renewed.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

The COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak is impacting every area of our lives, and it’s only just being to spread here in the United States. Over in China, more than 80,000 cases have now been confirmed and that staggering figure continues to grow. Most cases are thankfully somewhat mild, and patients typically make a full recovery. The elderly and other at-risk individuals with pre-existing conditions are sometimes less fortunate.

It’s difficult to focus on the novel coronavirus’s impact on product manufacturing when lives are at risk, but the effects on product availability and on the global economy are real. For that reason, many products we’re used to seeing everywhere are already in short supply.

Purell and Clorox wipes are already impossible to find anywhere, and we’ll likely soon be able to add AirPods Pro to the list. Apple’s beloved true wireless noise cancelling earbuds were the hottest headphones of the season last year ahead of the holidays, and they have been in high demand ever since. Incredibly, Amazon recently slashed them back down to Black Friday’s lowest price ever, and they’re still available at that price right now. That said, this could be the last time for a long time that AirPods Pro are available at a discount.

Apple AirPods Pro: $234.98

Head over to Amazon and you’ll be able to save 6% on AirPods Pro, but you’ll immediately notice that they’re currently listed as out of stock. This has happened many times over the past few months. Whenever Amazon does this and leaves orders open, new orders typically ship within a week or two. Once orders are closed, it might be a while before AirPods Pro are back on Amazon.

If you’re not interested in active noise cancelling, you’ll find several other great AirPods deals today on Amazon. AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case are on sale for $169 instead of $199, but you can actually pick up a pair for just $119 if you get them renewed. They’re guaranteed by Amazon — not some third-party seller — to look and work like new or you can return them within 90 days for a full refund. Regular AirPods 2 are also on sale today for $139 instead of $159.
