Even though the Galaxy S6 will be a lot lighter on bloatware than you would have anticipated, that doesn’t mean Samsung will stop offering users access to plenty of its own apps, not to mention other apps and services that it’ll include in its Galaxy Gifts digital package. One of the apps you’ll find in the latter portal is a very useful and quite popular Android and iOS keyboard app, and it will be available free of charge to Galaxy S6 buyers.

Samsung just announced its two major flagship phones for 2015 — the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. Both devices pack insane specifications and they mark a real change for Samsung, which has finally ditched its traditional plastic builds in favor of metal. The Galaxy S6 edge in particular looks like a big step forward for Samsung from a design perspective — whereas the original Galaxy Note Edge’s side display looked awkward and asymmetrical, the S6 edge looks very stylish and its two side displays look like a natural part of its design instead of just a cheap gimmick slapped on at the last minute.

What a difference a year can make. 2014’s Galaxy S5 was, to put it plainly, an utter disappointment. It wasn’t a bad phone by any stretch of the imagination, but it was hardly the exciting new Galaxy smartphone consumers were hoping for. Samsung’s Galaxy S5 was the definition of an iterative update, and it was uninspired and boring compared to the gorgeous HTC One M8 and other flagship phones like the second-generation Moto X.

With the Galaxy S6, Samsung made up for everything that was wrong with the S5… and then some.

One down, one to go! There’s a whole lot going on today ahead of the official kickoff of Mobile World Congress 2015, but there are clearly two main highlights that are generating the most buzz. The show actually doesn’t open until tomorrow, though many companies are making their announcements today in an effort to get a jump on things. The biggest news so far has come from HTC, which unveiled its new HTC One M9 and its first wearable device, the HTC Grip, earlier on Sunday.

Now, it’s Samsung’s turn to make waves as the company unveils its next-generation flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.

HTC’s big news out of Mobile World Congress 2015 is the HTC One M9, but the company had another surprise for the audience in Barcelona: the HTC Grip. That’s right, HTC is building it’s own wearable device. We’ve seen plenty of fitness bands over the past several years, but HTC thinks that it can target a group of athletes who aren’t getting what they need from the current selection.

After months of rumors and speculation, the HTC One M9 is finally here.

Then again, you might not have realized it unless you were paying very close attention. HTC says that the design of the M9 is a mashup of the best aspects of the M7 and the M8, and although that may be the case, it has resulted in a phone so familiar that you might mistake it for last year’s model.

Here’s the catch: last year’s model is still one of the best Android smartphones on the market.
