Is this new smartphone OS real competition for Android and iOS? (spoiler: no)
Let’s face it, if you’re going to buy a new smartphone, you’re probably looking at the iPhone and Android first, because almost everyone you know has either one or the other, You may also be inclined to try other things such as Windows Phone and BlackBerry, which may better suit your current smartphone needs. But don’t forget that there are plenty of other mobile operating systems to choose from, although they’re not very popular.
Now, there’s a new smartphone platform on the scene, but the vast majority of smartphone users out there likely won’t pay it much attention.

2015’s Call of Duty is being developed by the team behind ‘World at War’ and ‘Black Ops’
You might not know this if you aren’t a fan of the series, but Activision actually cycles through a group of developers for every new game in the Call of Duty franchise. Last year was the first year that Sledgehammer Games entered the fray, but Treyarch, developer of Call of Duty 3, World at War, Black Ops and Black Ops 2 will return in 2015.

iOS 8 is still causing big headaches in unexpected places
Apple’s iOS 8 software is one of the company’s most important mobile releases to date because it introduced several features that could turn out to be major assets not only for Apple, but also for consumers and businesses. Features like Apple Pay, HealthKit and HomeKit might become critical to some companies, making iOS devices more important than ever for their bottom lines. But there also appear to be other features, or lack thereof, that can significantly hurt certain companies.

Video: Check out Google’s best TV commercial yet for Android
Google has recently started a special “Be Together. Not the Same” campaign meant to promote Android and at the same time encourage users to express their personality using the versatile mobile operating system. The company released several hilarious animated TV commercials to drive the point home, but they’re nowhere near as great as the videos the company posted on YouTube this week.

12.9-inch iPad Pro isn’t big enough to stop Apple’s upcoming iPad sales slump
Even though Apple is expected to launch a new supersized iPad model in 2015, that’s not going to be enough to improve Apple’s iPad sales this year, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed in a note to investors on Friday.
