The FCC’s new net neutrality proposal everyone is so excited about may have a huge loophole
We won. The Federal Communications Commission on Wednesday took a huge step toward realizing web users’ dream of a truly free Internet; an Internet where net neutrality is real and service providers are barred from boosting their bottom lines by allowing big corporations to pay for priority pipelines. The Commission announced a new proposal that would see broadband Internet service reclassified as a utility under Title II of the Telecommunications Act.
Even a few short weeks ago, it seemed impossible that we would even get this far… but it looks like there is a pretty serious loophole in the new proposal that could be a big roadblock for net neutrality down the line.

Apple is making a Netflix rival
Cable TV is on its way out and streaming shows over the Internet is the future. Apple is smart enough to see this, which is why it doesn’t want to be left behind without a streaming service of its own to take on Netflix, Hulu and Sling TV. Re/code reports that Apple has given up trying to work with incumbent cable companies on creating its own streaming service and is now working directly with content providers themselves.

How HTC’s One M9 might win the first round against the Galaxy S6
In less than a month MWC 2015 will kick off in Barcelona, Spain, with a couple of special pre-show media events from HTC and Samsung. Both companies are expected to unveil top Android devices at the congress, including the HTC One M9 and Galaxy S6, respectively, with HTC apparently ready to win a first round against the Korean Android smartphone maker, Phone Arena reports.

‘Tens of millions’ of records stolen in massive Anthem data hack
The second-largest health insurer in the U.S., Anthem, late on Wednesday confirmed that its internal network has been breached by hackers, who managed to steal “tens of millions” of records, according to The Wall Street Journal.

It’s been a year since Satya Nadella took over but there’s some debate among Microsoft observers over just how much he’s left his stamp on the company. First marijuana vending machines go live in Seattle
Every stoner’s dream is coming true… well, as long as they have a license to use medical marijuana, that is. USA Today reports that a company called ZaZZZ has brought its pot vending machines to Seattle Caregivers, which is a medical marijuana dispensary.
