One Apple Watch feature that the iPhone desperately needs to steal
One of the more annoying aspects of our smartphones is all the notifications we get that make our devices either make noise or vibrate in our pockets. iMore’s Rene Ritchie has taken a look at how the Apple Watch handles notifications and he thinks that the iPhone could learn a thing or two from Apple’s first wearable computer.

LMAO: Dashboard cam catches cop dancing to Taylor Swift in 2015’s first classic viral video
Cameras don’t just show cops allegedly doing bad things — they catch them doing adorable things as well. 7 smartphones with monster batteries so big, you won’t believe it
Every single high-profile study in recent years that asks consumers what they want to see improved most in future smartphones is topped by the same thing: battery life. It’s no mystery that the batteries in most modern smartphones simply can’t keep up with all of the technology companies are stuffing into these handsets. Quad- and octa-core processors, ridiculously bright 2K displays and all of the other components in newer phones are huge battery hogs, but battery technology simply can’t move quickly enough to compensate for all of these thin new high-end phones.
If you want decent battery life on a smartphone from your carrier, you only have a handful of choices including the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus. If you want real battery performance though, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

The funniest thing you’ll see today: ‘The Daily Show’ destroys Google Glass
Google Glass is indeed no iPad. The device that many touted as the wearable computer of the future has hit a rough patch as Google finally comes to terms with the fact that people aren’t going to pay $1,500 for a ridiculous looking wearable that sits on your face. As I said back in 2013, Google Glass is not the future — but… it may indeed help steer consumer electronics companies toward less abrasive devices that could proliferate in the future.
That, of course, remains to be seen. In the meantime, Google Glass is still pretty fun to laugh at.

BIG GALAXY S6 LEAK: Report says Galaxy S6 will be the gorgeous high-end Samsung phone of our dreams
Samsung’s smartphones, even its high-end flagship phones, have traditionally had one major pain point. While Samsung’s flagship phones have always featured amazing displays and cutting-edge specs, they have also always been made of plastics that look and feel cheap. Other companies have long since moved to more sleek and sturdy materials like glass, aluminum and even kevlar, but Samsung continues to churn out devices made mostly of flimsy-feeling plastics. See my old post “This is the back of a $640 phone” for an idea of what I mean.
This remained the case in 2014, though the Galaxy Note 4 represented a decent step in the right direction thanks to its metal frame. But according to a new report, the stunning high-end Samsung phone of our dreams might finally debut in the coming months.

Video: Kevin Hart hilariously skewers Brooklyn hipsters in the best SNL sketch
Brooklyn has been changing a lot over the years, as rising real estate values are pricing many longtime residents out of some neighborhoods, thus paving the way for wealthier people to move in. On Saturday Night Live this week, Kevin Hart, Kenan Thompson and Jay Pharoah did a hilarious sketch making fun of Brooklyn’s gentrification by showing three corner kids talking about their new-found love of artisanal mayonnaise while also relaying stories about sipping wine at art galleries and going out to fancy brunches.

And you thought Xiaomi was shameless… Meet the smartphone that rips off Apple and Samsung in one fell swoop
Xiaomi is a China-based smartphone company that has grown to become the most valuable startup in the world by shamelessly ripping off Apple’s devices, its style and even its launch and marketing strategies. But even Xiaomi isn’t as shameless as another China-based smartphone maker called Gold-east. You’ve never heard of the company before and you’ll probably never see one of its products in person, but we had to take a moment to stand back in awe of the company’s masterful simultaneous trolling of both of the world’s top smartphone makers.
