Sprint is showing signs of life at just the right time

After news broke out a few days ago that Netflix might finally be fulfilling one of the requests coming from movie studios and rights holders — stopping Internet users, who bypass geographical limitations with help of VPN connections, from accessing Netflix content from countries other than their own (especially Netflix content for the U.S.) — the company has strongly denied such accusations, BBC reports.

That doesn’t mean spy agencies or ISPs won’t be able to see what sites users access — that’s not what private browsing does, as Eric Schmidt has recently learned — but that, in theory, users might guard their privacy to some extent. AT&T says the FTC can’t do anything to stop its throttling of ‘unlimited’ data customers

OK, so it looks like AT&T has been throttling data speeds for customers who have “unlimited” data plans despite the fact that those plans are supposed to be, well, unlimited. Who’s going to do anything about it? The Federal Trade Commission? Well, maybe not. As Ars Technica reports, AT&T doesn’t think the FTC has the jurisdiction to stop them.
