How Apple has dominated CES over the years without once showing up
Apple makes a point of not officially attending CES every year, though Apple execs might be seen roaming the CES floors from time to time, as was the case with Greg Joswiak three years ago. But that doesn’t mean that there’s a lack of Apple-related news detailing unreleased products during CES each year, as the company always times product leaks just as some of its competitors are trying to impress the press with their hottest new gadgets. MacStories went back in time all the way to CES 2007 to find all the Apple reports that have diverted attention from actual CES events.

At long last: An Android phone that can give you up to 320GB of storage
One of the issues with smartphones today, no matter what platform you choose, is that makers are still offering little on-board storage. Sure, there are plenty of cloud solutions to make up for that, and only iOS users lack the ability to add more storage to an iPhone with help of microSD cards. But that doesn’t mean that the default storage on mobile devices is acceptable, and microSD support still only goes up to 128GB of additional space.

Well sales of the 5c were disappointing for Apple and the device did nothing to slow Android’s march toward dominance. However, Apple now knows that it didn’t need a cheaper iPhone — it just needed a bigger one.

Why you (probably) shouldn’t worry about the new MacBook Air ditching ports
When news of Apple’s radically redesigned 2015 MacBook Air broke on Tuesday, one of the most jarring revelations revolved around how many ports it would have. 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman has reported that the new MacBook Air will dump full-sized USB ports, MagSafe connectors and SD card slots. Instead it seems the new ultra-thin MacBook will have one USB Type-C port and a headphone jack… and that’s it.
