Electric companies should be terrified of Elon Musk’s revolutionary batteries
Although oil prices have been plummeting recently, the future of energy is likely still from renewable sources such as solar power, if only because they make generating electricity insanely cheap. With this in mind, Bloomberg’s Mark Chediak writes that Elon Musk’s new gigafactory should scare electric companies to death because of it will have the ability to mass produce “stationary battery packs that can be paired with rooftop solar panels to store power.”

Dozens of execs fired or demoted this week after Samsung’s profit plummeted 60%
Samsung’s third quarter was nothing short of a disaster. Pressure at the high end of the smartphone market from Apple and at the low end from Chinese phone vendors squeezed Samsung’s biggest moneymaker from both ends. As a result, the company’s revenue fell 20% on year and its net profit plummeted a horrifying 60%.

We’re hiring!
It seems like just yesterday that BGR launched as a small spin-off from a sporadic column on Engadget, but we celebrated our eighth anniversary earlier this year and a lot has changed since 2006. The site is no longer a one-man operation, of course, but we’re still a very small team compared to our competitors, who often have huge editorial teams staffed by dozens of writers.
We’ve accomplished plenty with a small, talented group of writers. BGR is read by more than 11 million unique visitors each month, and tens of millions more read our content every month thanks to our great syndication partners.
We enjoyed incredible growth in 2014, and now it’s time to focus on expanding our team so we can grow even faster next year.
