This could be the most advanced phishing scheme yet… and you might not even be the target
A new advanced phishing scheme going after a specific type of target has been discovered by security firm FireEye, which detailed the cyber attack in a new report. Specifically, a highly educated group going by the name of FIN4 has been discovered to target certain Wall Street companies, looking to obtain sensitive information about certain companies, transactions, and special deals, in order to later make use of it for financial gain.

Carriers have a sneaky new way to add more bloatware to your Android phone
Leave it to wireless carriers to come up with new ways to give you something that you never asked for. Forbes contributor Matt Hickey reports that a company called Digital Turbine has pioneered a new service called Ignite that will let mobile carriers install additional software onto your Android phone “for more advertising revenue” whenever they want and without your permission. This means that in addition to the bloatware you already get from your carrier on your Android phone, you could get even more installed at your carrier’s whims.

This Ikea desk takes working from home to a whole new level
Swedish furniture company Ikea has come up with an interesting desk design called Bekant, which might make working from home, or at the office, even more fun and possibly more productive. Aware that sitting at a desk for hours at a time without proper breaks for standing up isn’t exactly healthy, Ikea has decided to offer buyers the best from both worlds with a single desk, the Bekant, which comes with a handy height adjusting mechanism.

Apple’s former ad man is not impressed with the Timberlake-Fallon iPhone 6 ads
Former Apple ad man Ken Segall is always worth reading because he often offers smart criticisms of Apple’s ad campaigns in addition to gleefully slamming some of Microsoft’s most utterly wretched spots. Because of this, it’s notable that Segall is fairly lukewarm on Apple’s iPhone 6 ad campaign featuring Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon, which he describes as “resoundingly okay.”

Apple Watch expected to be a stellar success for Apple
Various reports have suggested that Apple’s first smartwatch, expected to launch early next year, will be a very successful product for the company, with some analysts expecting the company to sell some 30 million Apple Watch units in the first year alone. MacRumors further points out that a survey conducted by UBS analysts reached almost the same conclusion, with the poll showing that some 10% of respondents are “very likely” to buy an Apple Watch next year.
