Even though Android is the dominating smartphone platform when it comes to market share, enjoying huge popularity in many markets, Google appears to be interested in heavily promoting it this holiday season, especially now that Android 5.0 Lollipop, the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9 have all been launched. Google has taken its Android video commercials — the ones telling the audience that Android is supposed to offer user a unique experience — to a whole new level, Android Central reports, renting ad space on a huge, over 25,000 square feet, billboard in Times Square.

The most advanced malware yet has been spying on you for years
Security researchers have discovered a highly advanced malware program, called Regin, that have been used for spying purposes for at least six years. First discovered by Symantec and confirmed by Kaspersky, the security threat is believed to be the work of a government, considering the massive resources behind it and its sophisticated features, rather than a program devised by hacker groups interested in stealing data and/or money from regular Internet users.

Apple fights back against claims that Siri is distracting drivers
Back in October, researchers from the University of Utah released findings which showed smartphone personal assistants weren’t much safer than texting while driving. They found hands-free technology to be distracting and overly-complex, harping on Siri specifically as one of the least intuitive methods of interacting with technology through voice commands.

Frightening new malware targets your password manager
If you thought hackers gaining access to just one of your online accounts was troublesome, you’ll be terrified to know that the next frontier might put your entire online identity at risk. IBM’s Security Intelligence reports that a new configuration of the Citadel trojan has been designed to start keylogging when specific password managers begin running on an infected user’s computer.

How to stop Facebook from eating your iPhone’s precious storage space
If you use the Facebook app regularly on your iPhone, you might notice that it’s gradually taking up more and more storage space on your device. Business Insider’s Matthew Stuart notices that Facebook keeps expanding the amount of storage it takes up on his iPhone the more he uses it because Facebook opens up links within the app on its own internal browser instead of on an external browser like Chrome or Safari. Facebook has designed its app so that whenever you open a webpage posted by a friend on the Facebook app, it will cache the entire page on your device. This is obviously a problem since the more pages you visit, the more space gradually gets eaten up.
