Bizarre ‘cotton candy’ planets might have rings, scientists say
Our solar system has a nice selection of planet types. We have ultra-hot worlds orbiting close to our Sun, rocky worlds like Earth and Mars, gas giants like Jupiter and frozen behemoths like Neptune hanging out on the distant edge. When telescope technology reached a point that scientists began spotting planets outside of our home system we quickly realized that there are types of planets we could never have imagined.
One of those unexpected planet types, an ultra low-density collection of puffy material that researchers famously compared to cotton candy, might not be what it initially seemed. New research published in The Astronomical Journal suggests another explanation for these strange worlds, and they might mirror a planet in our own system.

OnePlus 8 reportedly set to launch much sooner than anyone expected
The coronavirus outbreak has put more than a few high-profile product launches in jeopardy of being delayed, but at least one smartphone vendor might be ahead of schedule. Citing a source close to the company, TechRadar reports that OnePlus is set to launch its next flagship phone in the second week of April. The OnePlus 8 will apparently be unveiled globally in April, which means global availability should follow shortly after.
Traditionally, OnePlus has launched two phone lines during the year — one model in the summer and an upgraded version of that model in the fall. For example, the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro debuted in May of 2019, while the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro were shown off for the first time in late September and early October, respectively. The expectation is that OnePlus will employ a similar strategy in 2020, but with the addition of a new “Lite” model.

Students stumble upon new black hole in NASA asteroid probe data
NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft has spent the majority of its life studying the near-Earth asteroid Bennu. It was tasked with traveling to the asteroid, orbiting it, and eventually snatching samples so it could return that material to Earth. Spotting distant black holes wasn’t initially part of the plan, but as NASA explains in a new blog post, the probe’s observations of Bennu were hiding a secret that was uncovered by university students who were scouring the data.
The REXIS instrument installed on OSIRIS-REx detected the distant black hole during an observation attempt long before it arrived at the asteroid. It spotted x-rays being emitted from a previously undiscovered object some 30,000 light-years away. After additional study, that newfound object is now believed to be a black hole.

This brand new Android gaming phone has an awesome feature no other phone can match
I’ve often criticized gaming Android phones for being an unnecessary gimmick. Any high-end smartphone, whether it’s an Android or iPhone, will be a powerful gaming device. I will admit, however, that gaming phones have pushed the industry forward, as standard flagship smartphones now ship with specifications that you’d expect to find on a gaming phone. I’m not talking about the CPU or GPU combo, as it’s often the latest Snapdragon flagship that powers the latest high-end Android and gaming phones. But gaming phones usually had more RAM and storage, a beefier battery, and higher refresh rate screens.
All those features are now available on high-end Android handsets, and the Galaxy S20 series is the best example of that — the phone has at least 12GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, high-capacity battery, and fast-charging. In other words, it’s a lot more difficult for gaming phone makers to come up with unique, gaming-centric features for their newest devices. This brings us to the latest gaming phone, which finally packs a feature that will actually help with gaming — one that you won’t find on other devices, competitors included.

SpaceX’s newest mission for NASA is totally metal
NASA has been relying on private companies for help with launching various missions for some time now. SpaceX is one of NASA’s biggest partners in this regard, and it regularly awards the company with new contracts for future missions well in advance of the planned launch date. Now, with its eyes set on a very special space rock, NASA has given SpaceX another nod.
NASA has chosen SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy as the launch vehicle for its mission to the asteroid known as Psyche. Psyche, a very special asteroid that is believed to be largely made of metal. As NASA explains in a press release, the total cost of the launch will be around $117 million, but it could teach scientists a lot about the formation of planets.

It sure looks like Apple is about to launch exciting new iPad Pro models
Before the coronavirus outbreak turned the world upside down, rumors suggested that Apple would host a spring event at the end of March to debut new products, including the iPhone 9. Whether or not the virus has affected those plans remains to be seen, but there is evidence to support the fact that Apple will unveil at least one new device soon. Bloomberg reports that iPad Pro tablets are increasingly hard to find in cities across the US, Europe, and Australia. A quick search in the New York City area shows that availability of 512GB models is especially limited.
On one hand, there’s a chance that this is a direct result of the virus’s impact on production, but as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman notes, there’s also a chance that the supply shortages could stem from the imminent launch of the rumored 2020 iPad Pro models. Apple might just be clearing up shelf space ahead of the reveal.

Crazy rumor claims ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ almost ruined Marvel’s MCU Phase 4 plans
We’re two months away from the MCU Phase 4’s arrival. Black Widow will be the first title of the upcoming series of adventures, and Phase 4 will be richer than any of the previous stages thanks to Disney+. Marvel has six movies planned for the 2020-2021 period, and no less than eight distinct TV series that will tie into these films. And after the massive success of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel needs plenty of content to rebuild.
New Avengers have to join the ranks of the current team, a team that’s already deprived of four heroes, including Iron Man and Black Widow, who died, Captain America, who retired, and Thor, who’s off-world with the Guardians. We’re also in dire need of a big villain now that Thanos is dead, as well as a new main storyline. We’ve seen plenty of leaks detailing the plot of several of the upcoming Phase 4 films and TV series, but the next one gives us one of the wildest Marvel rumors ever. If this person has accurate information on hand, then we can conclude Spider-Man: Far From Home almost ruined the entirety of Phase 4.

New ‘Stranger Things’ teaser reveals who’s returning for season 4
Stranger Things is arguably the biggest franchise Netflix has and, somewhat impressively, the series has remained enthralling over the course of 3 seasons. If anything, you could even make a strong case that the third season of Stranger Things is the best of the bunch, an argument which points to the remarkably clever and suspenseful writing of the Duffer Brothers.
While some TV shows after a while start feeling too repetitive, the third season of Stranger Things still felt fresh despite a number of familiar plot lines and characters. Of course, the big question mark surrounding season 3 focused on the ending and whether or not Hopper was alive or dead. A Stranger Things season 4 trailer from a few weeks ago, however, revealed that Hopper was, in fact, alive and seemingly held captive in Russia.
