It might be hard to believe for some of the Apple faithful, but there are plenty of iPhone users who opt to switch to Android. Unfortunately, for far too long, many of them would have difficulty receiving text messages, an issue which Apple recently addressed with a new online tool that allows users to deregister their iMessage accounts. But for the U.S. courts, this might have been too little, too late.

Comcast says it’s net neutrality’s No. 1 fan
Just like how Annie Wilkes felt about Paul Sheldon in Stephen King’s Misery, Comcast says it’s net neutrality’s No. 1 fan. In a blog post written on Comcast’s website Tuesday, Comcast executive vice president David L. Cohen insisted that his company was the best friend that net neutrality has ever had, despite the fact that the company got into hot water for throttling P2P traffic last decade in a case where we found that Comcast was actively targeting specific protocols such as BitTorrent for throttling.

Is this the single worst thing you can do to an iPhone 6 Plus?
The iPhone 6 Plus already is a best-selling device for Apple and the 5.5-inch phablet is even more popular in certain markets than expected. It seems that quite a few odd people have purchase the device, though, because some of them have found very unusual ways to use the smartphone. Redmond Pie points out one such case from China, where a user managed to install a somewhat working copy of Windows 98 on the iPhone 6 Plus.

Apple Pay is a huge deal. The United States is painfully behind the times when it comes to smartphone-based payment solutions, but Apple is looking to rocket us into the lead in the mobile payments market — while making a boatload of cash in the process. Apple Pay just launched last month and it’s already a huge deal, responsible for about 1% of transactions at Whole Foods in just 17 days. Of course, Apple isn’t just targeting the U.S. with Apple Pay, and the company’s international efforts may get a huge jumpstart sooner than most people expected.

‘7 hours of terror’: Watch live as scientists land a probe on a comet for the first time ever
For the first time in the history of mankind, scientists are attempting to make physical contact with a comet. A 10-year project by the European Space Agency’s Rosetta spacecraft will culminate on Wednesday when scientists attempt to land a probe on a comet for the first time ever. The final stage of the mission — actually landing the probe on the comet — has been described as “seven hours of terror” by a scientist involved with the project, and that terror is about to begin.
The actual touchdown of the probe “Philae” on the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is scheduled to take place just before 11:oo a.m. EST / 8:00 a.m. PST on Wednesday, and the attempt is being streamed live, as are the events leading up to tomorrow’s landing.
