Most people think of Uber as a cheaper and more convenient alternative to taxis… but that’s not always the case. Local Fox affiliate WGHP in Colorado reports that one Uber customer got charged a whopping $539 bill just for an 18-mile ride on Halloween night. And while this sort of massive charge sounds like it was a mistake, it turns out that it’s all part of Uber’s pricing scheme.

It’s that time of year again and the emails and messages are flooding in from all our readers about winter tires, all-season tires, all-weather tires, studded tires, tire chains, and the laws about using them in each respective province. You may remember an article we put out a few years ago addressing some of these questions in Canada, but we figure it’s time for a quick refresher to notify you of the changes and updates to winter tire laws in your particular province (or territory).

It’s no secret we’re a huge proponent for the use of winter or snow tires in any province (save for you British Columbia lower mainland types that escape much of winter’s wrath), and regardless of the law’s requirements, we strongly urge you to still consider spending the extra money on a good set of winter tires. The peace of mind and the added safety and control is priceless, plus we’ve even outlined how to find the best deal on winter tires to suit your budget.

New report claims to reveal the killer specs of Samsung’s Galaxy S6

On Monday, SamMobile came forward with the first information on “Project Zero,” purported to be the codename for the Galaxy S6. According to the report, the next flagship Android device from Samsung is expected to receive a complete redesign, possibly in response to the company’s declining revenue and profits in recent months.

It will be months before we see the finished product, but SamMobile published a second report on Tuesday that appears to outline the specs of the upcoming feature phone.
