This is the groundbreaking display that might be on your next smartphone
LG Display on Thursday took the wraps off its next-generation smartphone display, which will have the “world’s narrowest” bezel, measuring just 0.7mm (image above). It’s not clear at this point what kind of smartphones will make use of it in the future, or whether a variation of it will be found on the G3 successor next year. LG also supplies displays to other smartphone vendors, of course, so it could make its way to other phones as well.

SUPER SMASH BROS. FOR WII U HANDS ON: 8-player mode is as addictively fun as you hoped
Earlier this week, Nintendo invited me to its New York office to go hands-on with the final build of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. I’d had the opportunity to play the console version of the new Smash Bros. twice before, but this was the first time I was able to see all of the new modes and features, including 8-Player Smash, Smash Tour and the Amiibo NFC figures.

For every Galaxy Note 4 sold this year, 10 people will buy iPhones
Samsung’s mobile nightmare is far from over, and the company’s mobile division — which brought in the most profit in recent years — will have a tough quarter ahead as Samsung has to fight against Apple’s iPhone 6 models. Starting Friday, both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus will be available in stores in South Korea as well, The Korea Herald reports, with the publication confirming previous reports that said combined iPhone 6 preorders beat Galaxy Note 4 preorders in the region.

Apple threatened to remove the best iOS 8 widgets in the App Store… and then changed its mind
Good news: It looks like you’ll still be able to whip out your iOS 8-powered iPhone or iPad, head to Notification Center, and perform some quick calculations on a calculator widget that you previously placed in the Today section. TechCrunch now reports that Apple has decided against an earlier decision to reject calculator apps from building iOS 8 widgets, which should come as a relief to apps like PCalc that first started complaining about Apple’s widget policies earlier this week.

These pictures show one way Apple could have made the iPhone 6 even better
It’s safe to say that the iPhone 6 is the biggest smartphone hit of 2014, which is entirely to be expected given the wide acclaim it’s received and the enthusiasm that iPhone users have for the product. However, there are always things to improve with every device and these pictures posted by Gizmodo show that Apple could actually learn a thing or two when it comes to maximizing display size while minimizing extra space used for side bezels, cameras and microphones.

WATCH THIS: McConaughey obliterates Moon landing truthers in the first clip from ‘Interstellar’
Unless you’re a critic, you haven’t seen Interstellar. It’s shrouded in secrecy and all you really know about it is from what you’ve seen in various ads. This first clip from the film has been released though, and it shows that the reality the movie takes place in is quite different from ours. So different, in fact, that the American government is releasing textbooks that say the Moon landing was fake.

How to fix the worst bugs in iOS 8.1
Apple’s latest version of iOS is a huge improvement over other recent builds. It’s a particularly substantial improvement over iOS 8.0.1, which bricked about 30,000 iPhones in late September. As solid as iOS 8.1 is, however, the software still has some bugs that can be a big headache for iPhone and iPad users around the world.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that there are already things you can do to address all of iOS 8.1’s most troublesome bugs.
