Video: MasterCard is doing for Apple what Google can only dream of
On Tuesday during the first game of the World Series, MasterCard ran two new commercials that focused on its support for the newly launched Apple Pay service. As part of its new “Priceless Surprises” promotion, Apple Pay users will be eligible to win prizes every time they use their MasterCard to buy something through Apple’s mobile payment platform.

This might be one of the iOS storage bugs that’s preventing you from jumping to iOS 8
One of the most important reasons for some iOS 7 users not to upgrade to iOS 8 is storage space, as both the iOS 8 or the iOS 8.1 updates require plenty of storage for over-the-air upgrades. Apple enthusiast John Gruber found one potential explanation for this particular iOS problem coming from Kevin Hamm, who has figured out how the device’s storage can been taken over by “Other” files.

Android 5.0 Lollipop’s release date has just been confirmed
Although it will probably take a bit longer to get pushed out to most Android devices, we now know that Google plans to officially release Android 5.0 Lollipop on November 3rd. Android Police has flagged a new message sent out to Android developers informing them that they “can now publish apps that target Android 5.0 Lollipop,” which will be “available to consumers on November 3rd.” Google also recommends that these developers test out their apps right now to make sure they iron out any bugs before the software gets released next month.

Why Apple needs to stop releasing 16GB iPads
Earlier this month, we knocked Apple for releasing a new version of the Retina iPad mini that was literally the exact same as last year’s model except for the addition Touch ID and the option to buy it in gold. Now famed Apple blogger John Gruber, in his otherwise laudatory review for the new iPad Air 2, singles out another point of criticism about the company’s newest tablets: Namely, he doesn’t think there’s any reason for Apple to release larger iPads with only 16GB of storage anymore.

The Nexus 6 might be significantly delayed in certain major markets
Google will start taking Nexus 6 preorders in a week in the U.S., but a launch date for the handset isn’t yet available. Furthermore, it’s not clear when the device will hit other major international markets, as MoDaCo‘s Paul O’Brien claims on Twitter that U.K. Android fans looking to purchase a Nexus phablet might have to wait for a long time to get their hands on one.
