Here’s what to do if you’re worried that Yosemite is tracking you
Following the official release of Apple’s latest desktop operating system, news broke that OS X Yosemite secretly sends Spotlight search data to Apple (including location information), even though the company doubled down on privacy and security more than once in recent weeks. However, things aren’t as bad as you might think, and Apple’s data collection is done in a specific way that actually prevents the company from tracking you. Finally, data collection isn’t covert because Apple clearly explains it, and it can be easily turned off if you so desire, something Apple also explains how to do.

This is one ‘problem’ Apple is happy to have
Apple on Monday announced record results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014, with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus having played a crucial role despite being available in stores for only 10 days during the period. The company sold more than 10 million units during launch weekend, and that doesn’t even include China. The phones were released in the largest market in the world about a month later, where they were met with huge demand, with many buyers purchasing the phablet version, according to unofficial estimates.
Following its previous reports that largely said the same thing, Digitimes is again saying that Apple is going to increase iPhone 6 Plus manufacturing volumes in order to “satisfy strong demand from China.”

You might not be able to find an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus in stores this Christmas
In case you’re planning to buy an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for yourself or a special someone this Christmas, you should consider placing an order as fast as possible, to actually be able to have it shipped, wrapped, and neatly hidden underneath a Christmas tree. Otherwise, finding an iPhone 6, and especially iPhone 6 Plus, in stores right before Christmas is something less likely to happen, as Apple is selling everything it can manufacture. Tim Cook said during Apple’s Q4 conference call that the company can’t determine yet whether supply will meet demand this quarter.

Here’s the letter CEO Tim Cook sent to employees following Apple’s monster Q4
Apple absolutely crushed its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings. Even the most bullish estimates were light when Apple revealed on Monday that it racked up a massive $8.5 billion net profit on $42.12 billion in sales — both records for the September quarter. The company sold 39.3 million new iPhone handsets in the quarter, which was also a record that was undoubtedly made possible by Apple’s huge iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch last month.
To congratulate his team on Apple’s record-smashing quarter, Cook sent the following internal letter to his staff:
