You can’t install OS X Yosemite on your Mac because you’re already running it
Apple on Thursday released the final build of OS X Yosemite, which became available to Mac users as a free download from the Mac App Store. However, not all Mac users were able to install it on their devices, as their Mac App Store apps would not make the update available. In case you’re one of those people still checking to see whether the update is ready, you should know there’s a simple explanation of why you can’t update: You’re already running it. Just click on that download button (as in the image above), and your Mac will tell you that you’re already running OS X 10.10.

You’re not going to believe this: people are still buying the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. BGR’s 8th Anniversary Event was a blast!
Thank you. After all the fun we had Thursday night, that’s all we can really say. We always love it when we get the opportunity to spend some time with readers, and there is no better way to celebrate eight years than a party with you guys. HTC was a fantastic event partner, and nearly one thousand people came to celebrate with us at Avenue in New York City over the course of the night. Of course, they all had a great time checking out HTC’s new Desire Eye smartphone and RE camera as well, and 25 lucky attendees even went home with brand new HTC phones that we gave away for free throughout the evening.

This is Android 5.0 Lollipop’s most important new security feature
There are a lot of great new features in Android 5.0 Lollipop but one that’s gone rather unheralded has been the addition of a kind of “kill switch” that can be used as a major deterrent to would-be smartphone thieves. Forbes reports that the new feature, dubbed “factory reset protection,” essentially prevents anyone from wiping and resetting your device if it’s stolen. If thieves can’t factory reset your device, then they won’t be able to successfully resell it since it will be obvious that the device has been stolen.

Everything new that Apple added in iOS 8.1
Apple made plenty of big announcements during its press conference Thursday — along with one ridiculously small announcement — and details surrounding its first big revision of iOS 8 were among them. While it may look just like Apple’s previous mobile software version, iOS 8.1 is a huge deal, mainly because it will finally bring Apple Pay to iPhones and iPads. Apple announced that it is already working with more than 500 partners on its mobile payment solution, and down the road it could clearly be a huge boost for Apple’s bottom line and an added convenience for Apple’s customers.
But Apple Pay isn’t the only new addition in iOS 8.1.
