One of the new Siri-related features Apple introduced in iOS 8 is the “Hey Siri” hotword that gives a device always-on listening abilities when it’s plugged in and charging. The feature doesn’t work when an iPhone or iPad is disconnected from the power supply, likely a measure meant to conserve battery life, but iDownloadBlog reports there’s a way to enjoy “Hey Siri” all the time, without having to charge the device at the same time.

New leak may confirm a key iPad Air 2 feature
One of the more disappointing aspects of the iPhone 6 is that the device only featured 1GB of RAM, although that doesn’t seem to have hurt the device’s performance in the slightest. That said, we can’t imagine Apple users would have complained about getting extra RAM on their devices, which is why we’re happy to say that it really looks like Apple is going to at least bring added RAM to its upcoming iPad Air sequel.

Hands on with Sony’s Xperia Z3v, the phone that dares not innovate
“The U.S. is one of the biggest smartphone markets in the world. It’s also one of the toughest,” Sony Mobile President Kunimasa Suzuki said as Sony prepared to announce its latest Android smartphone.
It’s an uphill climb for Sony to make an impact in the U.S. market, but the company is doing everything it can to match specifications with the best Android phones on the market. Sony’s Xperia Z3v is the Verizon exclusive model of the Xperia Z3 line, strikingly similar to the Z3 itself but with slightly different dimensions and few tricks of its own.

Sony unveils its ‘premium’ new Xperia Z3v
Sony has been rolling out new smartphones this fall and on Thursday the company took the wraps off the new Xperia Z3v, a new device that will release on October 23rd exclusively on Verizon. Sony says that the Xperia Z3v is “how a premium smartphone should look and feel” while touting the device’s “aluminum sides and conveniently placed power button” along with its “tempered glass panels” on the front and back of the device that offer “the highest level of waterproofing in a smartphone.”

Microsoft refutes ridiculous rumor that it wants to kill the Surface
