iOS 8.1 beta 2 released to developers
Apple has just released its second beta of iOS 8.1 to developers. It is an over-the-air release that will be compatible with 32 different device types and Apple says that it generally contains assorted “bug fixes and improvements.” 9to5Mac notices that it’s 62.5Mb and it also features new Apple TV and Xcode 6.1 betas. The latest release comes just over a week after Apple released its first iOS 8.1 beta to developers, which we noted at the time was one of the fastest iOS x.1 releases ever.

In addition to the upcoming Galaxy Note 4 flagship that will compete directly against the iPhone 6 Plus this year, Samsung plans to launch additional Android devices to take on Apple and other handset makers during the busy holiday shopping season. These devices won’t be the high-end handsets you expect, but rather mid-range handsets that will be made out of “premium materials,” as SamMobile reports.

Video shows the iPhone 6’s LTE speeds are insanely fast compared with the iPhone 5s
It turns out that the LTE speed boost you get with the iPhone 6 really is as awesome as advertised. iClarified conducted a speed test on both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 5s and found that the newer phone delivered download speeds that were more than three times faster than the older phone while also delivering upload speeds that were around 10Mbps faster.

Why you’ll be annoyed if your future iPhone doesn’t bend
Apple’s iPhone 6 models have been recently criticized for bending in certain places following a specific kind of applied pressure, but a newly discovered patent seems to indicate that some of Apple’s future mobile devices may indeed come with screen-bending features that are anything but an accident. Awarded on October 7th and first discovered by AppleInsider, U.S. patent No. 8,855,727 describes mobile devices with flexible displays that can be bent to trigger certain content-repeated features.

It looks like Apple’s recent blunders may be scaring people away from iOS 8
Released on September 17th, iOS 8 was quickly installed on many compatible devices, even though users had to battle with unexpected storage problems for iOS upgrades performed directly on iPhones, iPads and iPod touches. A few days later, on September 21, Apple revealed on its developer pages that 46% of devices that connected to the Apple Store were already running iOS 8. However, since then, reports have suggested iOS 8 adoption is far from matching its predecessor’s performance, and Apple is now confirming that iOS 8 installations have come to a screeching halt.
