2M iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus reserved in China in just 6 hours ahead of preorder start
Apple announced official iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch plans for China earlier this week, and while the phone will only start selling in local Apple and carrier retail stores on October 17th, with preorders and in-store reservations set for October 10th and October 14th, respectively, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus reservations are already available to early buyers, already topping 2 million units in the first 6 hours. Sina reports that even though Apple offered an October 10 preorder date for the new iPhones, all three major local carriers and other retailers have started taking reservations for the handset.

For Jony Ive, the Apple Watch is all about the tiny ‘fantastic’ details
Apple isn’t ready to sell you a brand new Apple Watch just yet, but the company is certainly interested in making you want to buy one. In addition to showing the device in Paris in celebration of Fashion Week, Apple also allowed fashion magazine Vogue to write an ample Jony Ive profile, providing the publication access to its top designer. Most importantly, Apple offered the magazine access to the unannounced device weeks ahead of the actual iPhone 6 event where the Watch was unveiled, although Vogue only published its interview on Wednesday, almost a month after the Watch was first introduced to the world.

Smaller cable providers realize cord cutters are the future
Big providers like Comcast and Time Warner Cable may want to cling to the past but it looks like smaller cable providers seem to know that cord cutting is actually the future. The Wall Street Journal reports that smaller cable providers are increasingly placing more emphasis on their broadband offerings and less on TV packages as consumers have shown that they would much rather have a faster Internet service than hundreds of channels they never watch.

Sophisticated malware already spying on Hong Kong protesters’ iOS and Android phones
Whenever mobile malware comes up, the usual reports detail new malicious apps that are found to affect Android, while iOS remains largely unaffected by such programs. However, The New York Times now says that security researchers have discovered a sophisticated malware attack that’s currently spreading in Hong Kong between Occupy Central protesters, and which is able to infect and then spy upon both Android and iOS devices.

We absolutely love the new time lapse video feature that Apple has added to its iPhone cameras if for no other reason than it’s enabling iPhone users around the world to take some incredible videos and share them with everyone. Verizon and Sprint follow AT&T’s lead with new double data offers
Over the weekend, AT&T announced a data plan promotion which would allow customers to sign up for double the data at the same price as their current plans. Verizon cancels plans to throttle subscribers with unlimited data
Verizon Wireless on Wednesday announced that it is cancelling plans to throttle subscribers with grandfathered unlimited data plans. Back in July, the nation’s top carrier had said it would being slowing data speeds for the top 5% of data users in congested areas, and the new policy was set to go into effect on October 1st. According to a statement released on Wednesday afternoon — the same day throttling was set to begin — Verizon will no longer take any measures to limit data speeds.
