‘Gapgate’ solved: Here’s why the Galaxy Note 4 has a gap between its frame and display
Don’t mind the gap, says Samsung. Earlier this week we started hearing reports out of Korea that some Galaxy Note 4 owners were annoyed by a gap that they found between the Note 4’s frame and its display that was apparently wide enough to fit two pieces of A4 paper inside. Now, however, AndroidCentral has discovered that this isn’t a design bug… it’s a feature.

Samsung shares 5 reasons we should care about Galaxy Note Edge’s weird curved display
The new Galaxy Note Edge is coming out soon — although Samsung hasn’t said when — and the first thing you probably noticed about it is that weird curved screen. What purpose does it serve other than to look like that part of the yearbook that no one can sign?
Well, the people over at Samsung took the time to outline the five features of the Edge screen in a nifty looking infographic that will hopefully explain what it’s all about. It shows a few things that aren’t quite possible on rivals phones, so you may be interested in giving this long infographic a look.

Apple releases OS X Yosemite GM to developers right as Microsoft unveiled Windows 10
Apple on Tuesday released OS X Yosemite Golden Master Candidate 1.0 to developers, which could turn out to be the final Yosemite built that will be released to regular Mac users in October. However, MacRumors points out that last year Apple released a second GM version of Mavericks before rolling it out to all Mac owners. Photos of bent iPhones are popping up all over Instagram – here are the best ones
As if “Bendgate” wasn’t bad enough PR during the rollout of the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, or the fact that the iOS 8.0.1 update turned iPhones into bricks, some people thought it would be fun to post pictures of their bent iPhones on Instagram. This seems to be adding to the notion that the new iPhones will bend easily just by putting the phone in your pocket and sitting down too fast, even though Consumer Reports basically debunked that as being “overblown.”

Can Microsoft stop Windows’ slow slide into irrelevance?
Windows is still by far the most widely used desktop OS in the world but things are decidedly trending downward. The most recent numbers from NPD showed that while “U.S. consumer retail PC sales grew almost 3% during the 10 week Back-to-School period (week of July 4th through Labor Day week),” Windows device sales actually fell by 3% over the same period. Instead, NDP found that all growth in PC sales came from Macs and Chromebooks. Microsoft’s struggles in the mobile market are even worse — while iOS and Android dominate the smartphone market, Microsoft’s own Windows Phone has been a bust so far and has actually seen both its market share and total shipments decline over the last year.
