Motorola boss says people will stop buying devices like the iPhone 6 soon
When you look at the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sales figures, it’s hard to believe that the high-end smartphone business is drying up, but that’s exactly what Motorola President Rick Osterloh argued in an interview with Re/code earlier this month.
“The days of the $600-$700 smartphone are numbered,” Osterloh told Re/code. “People are realizing they don’t need to pay that much money.”

Not impressed by the iPhone 6? Here’s a complete guide to switching from iOS to Android
It seems like Apple fans are pretty impressed with the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, for the most part. By the time launch weekend was over, Apple had sold more than 10 million new iPhones. But as the saying goes, “you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” There are undoubtedly some current iPhone users looking to upgrade who want nothing to do with either of Apple’s new smartphones, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
If you’re a current iPhone user who may soon be purchasing a new Android phone — Motorola’s awesome new Moto X and Samsung’s hotly anticipated Galaxy Note 4 are both about to launch — you should know that switching can sometimes be a complicated endeavor. But luckily, there’s plenty of help out there to make the move as painless as possible.

Hands on: Samsung’s iPhone 5 is absolutely beautiful
Some hailed Samsung’s new Galaxy Alpha smartphone as an “iPhone killer” ahead of its debut last month. Since Samsung’s smartphones had all been made out of somewhat flimsy feeling plastics prior to the Alpha’s unveiling, it was understandable that some fans would get overly enthusiastic about what, at the time, was rumored to be the first Samsung smartphone to feature a beautiful aluminum housing.
Of course, now that the phone has been made official, we know that it’s most certainly not an iPhone killer. Instead, it’s a two-year-old iPhone.

The most scientific iPhone 6 ‘bend test’ video you’ll ever see
So far we’ve seen a bunch of videos of people bending the iPhone 6 Plus with their bare hands, but what happens when someone actually tries to give the device a “bend test” that’s somewhat scientific? The team at uBreakiFixCo decided to clamp the iPhone 6 Plus, the Galaxy Note 3 and the iPhone 5 into a 4 point bend fixture and then apply up to 100 pounds of force to each of the phones. The results, interestingly, were much the same as what Unbox Therapy found in its original video.

This is the craziest and most dangerous iPhone 6 drop test yet
iPhone 6 models can survive various accidental drops, as recent unofficial test videos have proven, though the handsets were dropped from a height of about 4 feet in those cases. YouTube channel Rated RR – which performed other extreme iPhone 6 Plus torture tests in the previous days, including blending the device, dunking it in liquid nitrogen, shooting 50-caliber rounds at it or dropping thermite on it – decided to perform the ultimate test: dropping the iPhone 6 Plus phablet from more than 7,000 feet.

It’s Apple’s fault that the world has seen naked photos of Jennifer Lawrence
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past month, you have no doubt read about the massive caches of nude celebrity photos and videos that leaked recently. In fact, the odds are fairly good that you’ve even seen some of them, or censored versions of them at the very least. Hackers reportedly obtained the private images by gaining access to online iCloud accounts belonging to more than a dozen celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco, Aubrey Plaza and Jennifer Lawrence. Now, just in case Apple needed some more bad news, it has been revealed that Apple knew about the security vulnerability that led to the leaks at least six months ago, and it could have easily prevented them.

There are lots of ways to unbox your new iPhone besides simply opening up the box… although none of them are likely to be very effective. The Blue Man Group, the famous troupe of entertainers who paint themselves in blue from head to toe and amuse audiences everywhere with their zany antics, have produced their own iPhone 6 unboxing video and it’s just as ridiculous as you’d expect.
