Great… MORE iOS 8 problems: Study finds iOS 8 crashes 78% more than iOS 7
When we covered 8 big problems with iOS 8 earlier this week, there was apparently a huge problem that was omitted from the list: it is still early for iOS 8 right now, of course, but so far Apple’s new mobile software is far more prone to crashes than the previous release, iOS 7.1. According to a study from Crittercism, which says it analyzes data from more than 1 billion monthly active mobile users, apps crash 78% more frequently on Apple’s latest and greatest version of iOS 8 than they do on its predecessor.

Apple debuted its first iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus TV commercials during its announcement event, revealing at the time it has hired Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake to do voice overs for the funny ads. The company is now back with a couple of new clips that promote two of the main features of the freshly released iPhones, the increased screen size and the on-board cameras, both featuring similar scripts: Fallon and Timberlake are doing voice overs while letting the new iPhones take center stage.

Just like with previous iOS releases, Apple’s recently rolled out iOS 8 update is causing issues for some device users, including Wi-Fi problems and faster battery drain, as CNET reports. This isn’t the first time a new iOS update has caused such problems, especially on older device that have been updated to the latest software version, and Apple is expected to release fixes for these issues in the near future.

Apple’s giant new ‘iPad Pro’ reportedly won’t launch until Q2 2015
Apple is expected to unveil a new generation of iPad Air models in the coming weeks, with a fresh report from The Commercial Times suggesting that the updated 9.7-inch iPad Air model will be the only new tablet the company launches this year. The Chinese publication also says that a new Retina iPad mini model is expected to arrive only next year, followed by the bigger iOS tablet certain buyers may be waiting for.

iOS 8 already installed on nearly half of all iOS devices
iOS 8’s initial adoption numbers may have been a little sluggish, according to reports, but Apple now says on its developer support pages that 46% of active iOS devices have been updated to its latest mobile operating system, “as measured by the App Store on September 21, 2014.”

Apple last week made an important privacy statement and told customers that it values their privacy and it further wants to help them secure personal data including messages, calls and photos by encrypting them. Bono wants to help Apple reach 1 billion iTunes subscribers
In an interview with Dave Fanning on Irish radio station 2FM, U2’s Bono revealed that the band wants to help Apple get to 1 billion iTunes subscribers, TUAW reports. Apple currently has 885 million users according to the well-informed musician, who has been in the news quite a bit lately because of the free U2 album download “scandal.”
