One chart shows you how incredible the iPhone 6’s sales numbers really are
So we already know that Apple sold more than 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units over the weekend, which in itself is a hugely impressive achievement. However, Apple’s massive weekend iPhone sales only look more impressive if you compare them with sales of past product launches, as Asymco’s Horace Dediu did on Monday when he posted the following chart on Twitter.

Google’s best iOS app got even better with a big update
It seems odd since Google and Apple are huge rivals, but Google is indeed one of the best software companies in the world when it comes to iOS apps. Google’s apps — at least, the ones that are updated regularly — always feature beautiful designs and great functionality. In fact, some might argue that Google’s iOS apps are even better than Apple’s own iOS apps. Personally, I can say that Google’s Search app in particular is easily one of the apps I use most often. It brings Google’s incredible Google Now functionality to iOS and it makes searching the web a breeze; I rarely use Safari at all on my iPhone, opting instead to do a quick search with Google’s nifty app to visit a website.
And thanks to a recent update, Google’s iOS Search app is now better than ever.

Apple Watch will reportedly have pretty unimpressive specs
Apple usually doesn’t compete with rivals when it comes to certain hardware choices it makes for its iOS products, including processor cores and clockspeed, memory or megapixels, though some have said that might change with the Apple Watch. In a note released on Monday to investors, and obtained by AppleInsider, Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri says Apple’s first smartwatch will have 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage, in its most basic versions.

Don’t expect the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to win any battery life contests
Now that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are in the hands of millions of buyers, people are putting them through all sorts of experiences including accidental or intentional drop tests and detailed teardowns, but also battery life tests. In fact, Phone Arena has put both devices through its regular battery measurements that use “a custom web-script, designed to replicate the power consumption of typical real-life usage,” publishing its findings and updating its battery life smartphone rankings to accommodate the new arrivals.

The hidden dark side of the iPhone 6 launch
Earlier on Monday we learned that Apple shattered all previous iPhone launch records, as customers couldn’t wait to get their device over its launch weekend. People were willing to wake up in the middle of the night to make sure they get their desired iPhone model or to stay in line for days to grab one in the store come launch Friday. But unlike in previous years when lines were filled with more anxious fans waiting to get the next iPhone model than people looking to make a quick buck, the iPhone 6’s launch seems to have had a darker story, as you can see on a video that went viral on YouTube.

New report claims Apple is already planning to shut down Beats Music
Well, this is somewhat unexpected — TechCrunch’s sources are saying that Apple is planning to shut down the Beats Music streaming app that it acquired when it bought Beats for $3 billion earlier this year. The only way that this report would make any kind of sense would be if Apple were simply folding Beats Music into iTunes — there is simply no way that Apple would consider abandoning a music streaming service at a time when it’s working to regain some of the influence over the music industry that it’s lost ever since the rise of Pandora, Spotify and other popular streaming services.

Frequent Apple critic says the company has finally upped its game with the iPhone 6
DisplayMate president Raymond Soneira has never been shy about slamming Apple when he thinks that it’s released a device with an inferior display — recall last year, for instance, he ripped the Retina iPad mini for “lagging” behind both the Google Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX. Now that he’s gotten his hands on the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6, however, he’s happy to report that Apple has finally taken a big leap forward in terms of display quality that he’s been waiting to see since the release of the iPhone 4 all the way back in 2010.
