Samsung just told us how awesome the iPhone 12’s new OLED screen will be
Samsung just unveiled the Galaxy S20 series, which features the best possible OLED screen tech available right now, according to screen scientists who put these displays through various professional tests. Before it, the iPhone 11 Pro models featured the best OLED displays, the same scientists said. Go a few more months back in time, and the Galaxy Note 10 featured the best screen tech on mobiles. It was even better than the S10 series, which, of course, had a better screen than the iPhone XS phones. I can do this all day, and the conclusion is the same. It’s Samsung the company responsible for the best OLED screens in town, including the iPhone OLED panels, which are built for Apple’s needs. Well, most of Apple’s displays are made by Samsung, but not all of them, as LG is also part of the supply chain, and other suppliers also want in on the action. But because Samsung makes the best OLED screens for phones and has the lion’s share of the market, especially when it comes to the lucrative iPhone business, it’s safe to say the iPhone 12 will have a screen at least as good as the S20 models. And thanks to a Samsung Display announcement, we know exactly what to expect from this OLED panel.

Scientists cured diabetes in mice, but are humans next?
For the vast majority of diabetics, the condition requires daily monitoring and maintenance. A lack of insulin being produced naturally by their bodies means consistent monitoring of blood sugar levels and insulin injections to ensure their bodies can carry out vital processes and keep them alert and healthy.
Now, researchers studying the condition have come up with a potential solution that could lead to a cure, even if it only appears promising in laboratory mice for now. The treatment involves the use of stem cells, which naturally convert into other cells in the body, to do the work of insulin secretion and mitigate the need for manual management of the disease.

This ‘Matrix 4’ plot theory about Keanu Reeves not portraying Neo will blow your mind
There have been a ton of sightings of a shaggy-haired, bearded Keanu Reeves sauntering around the Matrix 4 film set in downtown San Francisco over the past several days and, when he’s not doing that, stopping to pose for selfies with fans. The 55-year-old actor certainly looks a good bit older than his trenchcoat and black glasses-clad younger self we saw in the original three Matrix movies, the first of which debuted way back in 1999.
So far, though, a lot of the attention around the set has focused on all the wild explosions and other special effects that people are seeing unfold right in front of them. They are then dutifully sharing them on Twitter and Facebook. Meantime, major details about the Matrix 4 plot haven’t leaked yet, despite the crew not really making an effort to hide the filming. That said, people are starting to put two-and-two together and, in light of how Keanu looks when he’s been spotted on set (in all his shaggy glory), it has sparked some mind-blowing fan theorizing: What if Keanu won’t actually be portraying Neo this time around?

The Wi-Fi of the future might be able to detect your physical presence
Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) is one of the hottest buzzwords in tech right now. Combine that with 5G, and you’ve got the perfect setup, and many of the new 2020 phones do feature both Wi-Fi 6 and 5G support. Of course, to actually take advantage of faster Wi-Fi data speeds, you also need a home router that supports Wi-Fi 6 and a great internet plan.
The same goes for 5G — you need coverage and proper infrastructure that can deliver high-speed internet. But wireless networks might be used in the future for more than fast data transmission if the organization that governs the development and evolution of Wi-Fi has its way.

Earth might have caught a new moon, and it’s super tiny
Many of the planets in our solar system have multiple moons, and some even have dozens of large objects cruising around in orbit around them. Earth, by contrast, has just one large moon. Thanks to its solo nature, we even just call it “The Moon,” which is convenient, but that doesn’t mean that other natural objects couldn’t also get snagged by our planet’s gravity, and researchers think they might have just spotted a “mini moon” orbiting our planet.
The pint-sized object known as 2020 CD3 was acknowledged by the Minor Planet Center after being spotted during the NASA-led Catalina Sky Survey. At this point, it’s unclear exactly how long the rock will hang around, but for now, it’s Earth’s newest buddy.

Gmail got an awesome new feature you might never notice, but you’ll love anyway
Gmail just got an awesome new security feature that we’ll probably never see at work and one that we should have had for years. However, it may have not been possible before, as this feature relies on deep learning algorithms to enhance user protection against a particularly fruitful attack from hackers.
You may have been advised over the years not to open email attachments that originate from unknown parties, and you may have heard how seemingly innocuous Office files turned out to contain malicious payloads capable of hacking the target’s machine. Going forward, Google aims to reduce the instances where such emails actually reach their destinations.

Disney+ may not be the Netflix killer everyone thought it would be
While most everyone anticipated that Disney+ would be popular, the extent of the streaming service’s success even caught a few Disney executives off guard. Bolstered by a huge catalog of familiar and beloved content, along with new programming like The Mandalorian, Disney+ struck like a lightning bolt when it initially launched in early November.
To this point, Disney+, just two weeks after launch, had already amassed an estimated 15 million subscribers. Most recently, former Disney CEO Bob Iger disclosed during an earnings conference call that the Disney+ subscriber total had eclipsed 28.6 million. Those figures are beyond impressive and prompted many to posit that Disney+ could prove to be a serious threat to Netflix’s ongoing streaming domination.

Facebook is finally banning ads for coronavirus ‘cures’
Facebook has a massive problem with fake news flooding its platform. It’s an issue that has existed for years — and may have influenced a presidential election in the process — but the company has yet to fully squash it. Instead, Facebook addresses individual issues as they pop up, and with the current worldwide panic over the coronavirus, ads promoting “cures” for the infection are becoming a serious concern.
Now, as Business Insider reports, the company is paying more attention to ads and promoted posts related to the coronavirus COVID-19 and everything related to the virus and the outbreak. Put simply, the company is going to ban anything that claims to offer a cure for the infection.

iPhone 12 might get lightning-fast new charging tech
We’ve seen incredible upgrades in processing speeds, graphical power, and camera functionality on smartphones in recent years, but one of the features that repeatedly ends up at the top of the most-wanted list for many consumers is longer battery life. It is difficult to take advantage of all the improvements on your phone if the device is always on life support, which is why some of the biggest vendors in the market are thinking of making a major change.
IT Home reports that Apple, Huawei, OPPO, and Samsung all plan to use gallium nitride (GaN) technology for faster charging solutions. One paper even went as far as to claim that “this year, several manufacturers of the same size as Xiaomi will release GaN power adapters,” possibly referring to the vendors above.
Could Apple be thinking about releasing a GaN power adapter alongside the iPhone 12?
