THIS IS AWESOME: Verizon will let you upgrade to an iPhone 6 up to two months early
For the early adopters among us who can’t wait to get our hands on the latest technology, two-year contracts can be endlessly frustrating. It’s even worse when you miss a new release by a month, or even a few weeks, but Verizon feels your pain as the iPhone 6 begins to ship to customers all around the world. In order to alleviate some of that pain, Verizon is allowing anyone with an upgrade date on or before November 15th to upgrade to the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus starting this Monday.

Swiss watch industry icon explains why he’s not scared of the Apple Watch one bit
We’ve heard lots of Ballmer-esque comments rolling in from Swiss watch executives in the last week since Apple finally took the wraps off its hugely anticipated Apple Watch. Forbes has now scored an interview with Jean-Claude Biver, an icon in the Swiss watch industry who has had a highly distinguished career while working at Omega, Blancpain, and Hublot, among other places. Biver provides an interesting perspective because, while he admits to being “disappointed” with the Apple Watch, he also says the device gives Apple a solid foundation for doing bigger and better things in the future.

Nexus 9 reveal pegged for October 8th, set to feature a killer new processor
We haven’t seen a new Nexus device from Google so far in 2014, but according to Portugal-based tech blog 4GNews, HTC will reveal its Nexus 9 tablet at an upcoming media event on October 8th. This is the same media event that we reported on last week after receiving an invitation in our inbox with the title “Double Exposure.”

Even more exciting new Windows 9 features revealed in leaked videos
Later this month, Microsoft is expected to roll out its Windows 9 technical preview version, after properly unveiling its next significant desktop operating system update. In the meantime more videos demoing some of the upcoming Windows features were published online by WinFuture, confirming other major features coming to Windows 9 aside from the Start button.

Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are selling like hot cakes, as the company has just announced that a record 4 million combined iPhone 6 versions have been preordered in the first 24 hours, further confirming previous reports of record sales. Apple is said to be doing everything it can to make sure it has enough iPhone 6 units on hand at launch, with recent reports having revealed that the iPhone maker might have booked all the available air cargo from China to U.S. for a couple of weeks. A pilot of one such plane has decided to post images of a massive iPhone 6 shipment on MacRumors‘ forums, saying that the first iPhone 6 boxes are already arriving to the U.S. – a story late last week revealed that the first maritime iPhone 6 shipments have reached the States.

iPhone fans deliver the perfect response to Android fans’ ‘welcome to 2012′ taunts
Last week Android fans came out with an infographic that mocked the iPhone 6 for just now getting certain specifications and features that have been present in some Android phones for nearly two years. Now, via Sonny Dickson, it seems Apple fans have returned the favor by pointing out that some of the new features coming to Google’s upcoming Android L release that have been on the iPhone for years.

iPhone 6 Plus vs. Galaxy S5: A detailed comparison
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 4 is the company’s flagship phablet for 2014, but we still don’t have firm launch details for the upcoming new device. So, when Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus hits store shelves this Friday, the Galaxy S5 will be Samsung’s first line of defence against Apple’s debut phablet.
Now, the Galaxy S5 isn’t a “phablet” per se, at least not compared to other Samsung devices. At the same time, the device actually stacks up more closely to the larger of Apple’s two new iPhones, as opposed to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6.

UH-OH… First iPhone 6 benchmark shows solid performance, but falls short of Android rivals
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus aren’t even out yet and a first GPU benchmark for the Apple’s new 4.7-inch handset has already been discovered on Rightware, revealing that the device will not offer a significant performance bump compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 5s.
