The iPhone 6 is already preselling like crazy and it’s not even out yet
China Mobile seems to be one carrier that doesn’t really care about upsetting Apple because it’s already started accepting preorders for the unannounced iPhone 6 and is confirming details about the device a week before the iPhone maker even acknowledges it exists. That’s what the biggest carrier in the world did on Tuesday, China Daily reports, as it has started taking preorders for both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models a full week before Apple announces them.

Sony shows off the Xperia Z3 Compact, a smaller flagship phone with the same killer specs
Sony has unveiled an impressive lineup of phones at IFA, but the flagship Xperia Z3 is clearly the star of the show. It’s also a sizable device with a 5.2-inch display, but Sony doesn’t want to scare off any consumers who aren’t ready to make the leap to 5+ inches. That’s where the Xperia Z3 Compact comes in.

Apple’s iWatch is widely expected to redefine the smartwatch industry, as other Apple products did with other businesses, but unlike before, Apple rivals are not waiting to see what the iWatch will have to offer. Just like Samsung, LG, Motorola and others, Sony is out with new wearable devices including a new smartwatch and a new smartband, trying to get the attention of potential buyers.

Sony is launching a multi-pronged attack against the leaders of the smartphone industry this fall. It starts with the Xperia Z3, the flagship phone that will rival the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy Note 4, but Sony is looking to stir up the affordable segment of the market as well with its Xperia E3.

Meet the smartphone Sony will use to fight the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4
Sony on Wednesday took the wraps off its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z3, which will be its primary weapon against the highly anticipated releases of both the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy Note 4 this month. As you might expect, Sony wants to tie in its hugely popular PlayStation 4 gaming console in with its new device, which is why the company has added a new feature called PS4 Remote Play that will let you use the Xperia Z3 as “a remote screen to connect to and control your games on PS4.”

Samsung Gear VR hands-on: Virtual reality like you’ve never seen it before
It didn’t exactly come as a surprise when Samsung unveiled its first ever virtual reality headset during a press conference on Wednesday, but I’m not sure anyone expected the Gear VR to come out the way it did. Unlike the Oculus Rift and other virtual reality headsets we’ve seen in the recent past, the Gear VR is not a standalone device. Instead, Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 4 docks in the headset and the phone’s 5.7-inch quad HD display serves as the screen for all the action.
It’s an interesting implementation, to say the least, but I found that the virtual reality experience the Gear VR provides is shockingly entertaining.
