Samsung just released another new teaser video for the Galaxy Note 4
Samsung can’t wait to unveil the Galaxy Note 4, one of the most anticipated handsets of the second half of the year. The company has proven its eagerness with the numerous Galaxy Note 4 video teasers the company posted on YouTube in the last few days. After highlighting S-Pen features in a few videos, a unique selling point for the Galaxy Note phablet family, and telling various stories of happy Galaxy Note users, Samsung has released one more Galaxy Note 4 teaser with a few days to go until its official announcement.

The Galaxy Note didn’t ‘kill’ the iPhone… but it may be hurting the iPad
It has been clear for a year that tablet market growth has been slowing down a lot faster than anyone expected. But nevertheless, the latest IDC numbers are a stiff shock. The firm’s previous forecast for 12% tablet sales growth this year was already really low considering how hot the growth was as recently as in 2013, when the segment expanded by more than 50%. But now IDC has cut its projection in half, as the brand-new estimate for 2014 global tablet sales growth is a pitiful 6.5%. What’s even more stunning is that no growth is expected to take place in North America and Europe during this year.

Sorry, Google – Samsung’s Galaxy phones really need to see other maps
A new episode in the complex Google–Samsung love affair was written on Friday, as Nokia announced that its Here maps service will be available free of charge (via a licensing agreement) to Samsung Galaxy handset owners. Samsung inked this exclusive deal with Nokia even though Galaxy handset users already have access to one of the best mapping products in the world, Google’s own Google Maps.

The most disappointing rumor about the iPhone 6 may have just been confirmed
There’s no shortage of hype for the upcoming iPhone 6 although that doesn’t mean the device won’t be disappointing in some ways. The most disappointing rumor we’ve heard about Apple’s upcoming flagship phone is that it will only feature 1GB of RAM at a time when most high-end smartphones have long moved onto using 2GB of RAM or more.

The rise of mobile apps: Another way Apple changed the world
There was a time when Googling for “how to erase background in Photoshop” meant something. Budding graphical wizards understood that software existed to accomplish fantastical things such as removing a background and coloring it with something else, but the process was complicated. It required supremely expensive software, plenty of time for research, and the patience of Job. But it was easier than doing it by hand, so we were grateful.

This is why your favorite tech site has a horrible pro-Apple bias
Pretty much everyone who has ever written anything about technology has, at one point or another, been called an “iSheep” who is “so bias (sic) in favor of Apple!” But while accusations of “pro-Apple bias” occur so often that they’re practically meaningless, that doesn’t mean Apple doesn’t have a brilliant strategy for monitoring and manipulating media coverage about the company that is lightyears beyond what Amazon, Microsoft or even Google do.

Rear shell of Apple’s giant 5.5-inch iPhone shown up close in new leak
Following a variety of fresh 4.7-inch iPhone 6 components leaks showing its processor, front glass cover and rear metal case, a new picture of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 has popped up from Nowhereelse.fr. The picture comes from a trusted source from China and features the purported rear metal case of the handset, and appears to confirm what a previously leaked image of the same component revealed.

Watch a fully assembled iPhone 6 boot up for the very first time
No one has gotten their hands on an iPhone 6 yet, but luxury retailer Feld & Volk managed to cobble together enough loose components to put one together itself.
