Apple on Thursday officially confirmed what we already knew —that the iPhone 6 fall announcement event will take place on September 9th — by sending out a simple press invitation that featured the date of the event and a cryptic message that read “wish we could say more.” In addition to inviting the media to the highly anticipated iPhone event, Apple has also been doing something else, MacRumors reports, and that’s building some sort of giant structure for the iPhone 6 unveiling.

Google’s secret same-day delivery drone program is not so secret anymore

Danse miserable: Group wants to make a funky remix of hellish Comcast calls
Does misery have a time signature? That’s what open-Internet advocacy group Public Knowledge is trying to find out with a new contest that asks participants to take audio recordings from various nightmarish Comcast customer service calls and mash them up into a remix that will presumably be danceable and catchy.

Sprint is offering a great way to save money on calls when you’re overseas
Amazing but true: Sprint really does seem to be stepping up its game when it comes to offering more value for customers. Sprint on Thursday announced that it will offer free Wi-Fi calling to customers who travel overseas and who call the United States, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands. As you might have guessed, Wi-Fi calling lets you make phone calls using your local Wi-Fi network so you don’t have to use a carrier’s cellular network. This obviously eliminates the need for international roaming and thus will save you money on roaming charges as long as you’re within range of a working Wi-Fi hotspot.

Leak: Here’s Hollywood’s new plan to attack movie pirates
Hollywood hasn’t had much luck curtailing movie piracy over the past several years, but a new draft of anti-piracy legislation could be a frightening sign of things to come as studios and executives run out of options. TorrentFreak reports that the Australia Screen Association is heading up the draft, but Disney, Paramount, Sony, Universal and the Motion Picture Association are just a few of the other names attached to the legislation.

Teaser video suggests Dyson’s new robot vacuum cleaner may spy on you at all times
Dyson has published a short 25-second video teaser on YouTube that shows the company’s next product – or at least what that product is able to observe around it. Called the “Dyson project N223,” the device should be unveiled on September 9th and it’s likely a robot vacuum cleaner whose only purpose will be to regularly clean your home rather than spying you at all times, as the video suggests.
