This might be Android L’s official name
Google unveiled Android L at I/O 2014 without actually revealing a commercial dessert name for the upcoming platform release. Right before Google’s developers event, a Bulgarian site claimed that Android 5.0 Lollipop will be the company’s next Android version, but that name never received any confirmation. Meanwhile, Android Police has discovered various pieces of evidence that suggest Android L may become Android Lemon Meringue Pie (LMP) when it launches this fall.

Coin finally comes clean about delays
Coin, that awesome payment card that can replace all your physical cards including credit, debit, gifts and loyalty cards, last week announced that it wasn’t ready to ship the final product to backers as previously promised. In the process, the company disguised the announcement as an extended nationwide beta program that would be available to backers who choose to help, and to pay an extra fee on top of their existing pledges, shifting focus from the actual bad news. Since then Coin has come clean to backers about the product launch delay, Droid-Life reports.

All three major mobile operating systems now have a virtual assistant, but there still isn’t a final verdict on which is the best. In fact, with such frequent updates, it might be impossible to ever declare a winner, but that doesn’t mean we can’t constantly compare the three anyway. Samsung’s virtual reality plans are finally taking shape
As the wearable market continues to heat up, tech companies around the world are looking to expand into every relevant category of the fledgling industry. We’ve seen smartwatches, smart glasses and even smart shoes, but the sector of the wearable field that has us most excited is virtual reality. Sony and Oculus have taken most of the spotlight up until now, but Samsung is preparing an entry of its own to reveal at IFA 2014. The biggest reason Microsoft has started targeting the MacBook Air
In case you haven’t been paying attention, there’s been a noticeable shift in the way Microsoft has been promoting its Surface line of tablets — instead of pitting it against the iPhone like it’s traditionally done, it’s started pitting it against the MacBook Air. This may seem a bit puzzling since Apple sells more iPads every year than it does MacBook Airs but it actually makes all the sense in the world, as an excellent analysis by ZDNet’s Ed Bott makes clear.

See the first trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s next movie, The Hateful Eight
As with any Tarantino flick, there’s been plenty of drama surrounding The Hateful Eight, but not for the reasons you might suspect. Shortly after Quentin Tarantino revealed in January that he would be working on another Western, the script for the film leaked online. Tarantino was so furious that he considered canceling the project altogether and writing a novel instead.

New details leak for Motorola’s sweet-looking new flagship phone
