You’ll be very lucky to get your hands on a 5.5-inch sapphire iPhone this year
A new report from Asia claims that Apple will indeed use sapphire glass covers for some of its iPhone 6 models, but that the sapphire iPhone 6 will be a rarity this year. Digitimes says that GT Advanced Technologies, Apple’s sapphire-making partner, will not reach full capacity in 2014 and adds that sapphire screen covers will be extremely expensive this year.

The OnePlus One might not have the best smartphone name you’ve ever seen, but just about everything else about it is tremendously appealing — especially if you’re a hardcore Android fan. The handset runs a heavily customized version of Android known as CyanogenMod, and it’s just begging to be hacked to your heart’s content. It also features a sleek design, surprisingly solid specs and an off-contract price that starts at just $299.
The problem, of course, is that it’s incredibly difficult to purchase a OnePlus One because the phone is in such high demand. Now, however, OnePlus is giving Android fans 10,000 more chances to buy a One.

More evidence that we won’t see the iWatch until 2015
A 2014 release date for Apple’s wearable device is looking less and less likely as new reports continuously reaffirm that manufacturing issues are holding back mass production of the iWatch. Speaking with China’s Economic Daily News, sources say that although suppliers are set to begin assembling the units in September, they will only be able to produce around 1 million per month. This wouldn’t be enough for a full retail release before the end of the year.

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 might not be the most exciting smartphone the world has ever seen, but it’s still easily the best flagship phone Samsung has ever made. It has a gorgeous full HD display, a lightning-fast processor, a shockingly good camera and plenty more that make the Galaxy S5 one of the most capable handsets to date. Sales haven’t been terribly impressive and Samsung’s stock is down more than 12.5% over the past 3 months as a result, but that certainly doesn’t make the device any less appealing to smartphone buyers — and if you’re in the market for a new smartphone, now is the perfect time to consider the S5.
