Fresh leak may give us a new look at the Galaxy Note 4
Samsung will unveil its next-gen flagship smartphone on September 3rd at IFA 2014, and start selling it in stores almost immediately thereafter to fight against the upcoming phablet version of the iPhone 6. With a few weeks to go until Samsung announces the handset, various Galaxy Note 4 images have already been leaked, showing what the Galaxy Note 4 may look like. On top of that, Phone Arena has also scored a picture from an anonymous tipster that reportedly reveals the retail box of the handset.

Facebook’s annoying plan to make everyone use its messaging app sparks a big backlash
Congratulations, Facebook: You may have found a way to annoy your user base even more than Google did with Google+. Facebook’s decision to strip the chat functionality from its mothership mobile app and instead force users to use the separate Facebook Messenger app to chat with friends has predictably led to a big backlash as iPhone owners have been bombing Facebook Messenger with one-star reviews in the App Store for the past several days.

HIGHLIGHTS: 2014 Lexus F Sport Car Meet

The summer season is a time when car enthusiast gather together on weekends to share their passion and celebrate their love of automotive culture. Having already covered highlights from some of the biggest events of the season like Importfest, Fitted Lifestyle, CSCS and even the annual Yorkville Exotic Car Show, we also want to showcase some of the locally organized meets like the first Lexus F Sport event at Erin Park Lexus.
Toronto’s first ever Lexus F Sport car meet brought out some impressive rides like the 2012 Lexus LFA supercar (#34) which made a grand entrance from the Erin Park Lexus basement onto street level via service elevator lift. Special guest Ryan Bacsafra (Kaizen Factor) was also on hand, graciously welcomed by all to give some additional insight on the all new Lexus RC F and NX.
Several Lexus race cars also dropped by alongside dozens of modded and stock Lexus vehicles on display. cars aside, the 200+ guests in attendance were well entertained, with music provided by SiriusXM Satellite Radio, food and drinks supplied by Simply BBQ and Rockstar Energy Drink, plus a raffle for a set of brand new wheels courtesy of Tires23.

Microsoft isn’t even pretending to have a coherent smartphone strategy
Microsoft’s handset strategy is looking more convoluted with each passing day. A few weeks ago, Microsoft killed the Asha range of Nokia phones, which was largely viewed as an admission that it cannot compete with Android vendors such as Xiaomi and Micromax in the $60 to $90 price range. Asha models employed a Nokia-created operating system called Series 40, which gave these feature phones certain smart elements such as a reasonably sophisticated email system and support for downloading simple games and such.

How one ex-Apple exec wants to fix Apple’s ‘impenetrable jungle’ of an App Store
It’s not uncommon to hear criticism of Apple’s App Store even from fans of the company, as many have said in the past that the store makes it much harder than it should be to find relevant high-quality apps from smaller publishers. Cult of Mac points us to a new post from Jean-Louis Gassée, who worked at Apple throughout the 1980s and who has some intriguing new ideas for improving the App Store, which he refers to as an “impenetrable jungle.”

Hot new trailer shows off Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s new multiplayer mode
No matter how frequently the series receives an update, fans of Call of Duty are always excited to see how multiplayer will evolve from one game to the next. On the eve of Gamescom on Monday in Cologne, Germany, Activision and Sledgehammer Games took the stage to unveil the first ever footage of multiplayer from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the first game in the series built from the ground up for the new generation.

Here’s one way the iPhone 6 will likely be less exciting than you hoped
Some iPhone 6 rumors claimed the handset will pack a slightly more interesting logo than its predecessors, saying that Apple’s iconic image would light up to signal incoming notifications. Since then, a hands-on video showing the purported iPhone 6 case revealed that the logo on the back of the phone will not light up, with a recent image leak also showing a simple iPhone 6 Apple logo that lacked any components that would be required to light up. A third image leak, via Apple.club.tw, a Taiwanese publication that has leaked several other alleged iPhone 6 parts, also seems to point out that the iPhone 6 will have a regular, uninteresting, logo on the back.

Awesome smart motorcycle helmet raises more than $650K in a single day
The next gadget to take crowd-funding sites by storm is the Skully AR-1, a smart motorcycle helmet that needed to raise $250,000 by September 9th to become an actual product. However, the Skully helmet has already passed that goal, raising over $650,000 in its first Indiegogo funding day.
