Google’s smart contact lenses will soon become a reality
Remember Google’s interesting diabetes-detecting smart contact lens project the company unveiled in early 2014? The smart lens technology that would offer users a simpler, non-invasive way of measuring blood sugar while also improving eyesight is certainly interesting to Novartis, with the company on Tuesday announcing a partnership between its eye care division Alcon and Google’s X division to manufacture the lenses.

Android user may switch to Windows Phone for the weirdest reason we can think of
If there’s one species of tech fans that we find awesomely fascinating, it’s the Gadget Contrarians — that is, the people who love using services, devices and platforms that have been overlooked or dismissed by the mass market for whatever reason. One particularly striking example of this is GigaOM writer Kevin Tofel, who says that he’s finally decided that he can make the switch from Android to Windows Phone… because it finally has a good Google+ client.

This is how Microsoft is trolling Google in new Nokia Lumia phones
The Microsoft-Google enmity is one of the very interesting rivalries in the tech world, and the Windows maker has just taken another hit at its archenemy. Interestingly though, some European versions of the handsets do let users select Google Search as the default search engine for online queries, and Microsoft has not commented on the matter.

Blackphone hits back at BlackBerry, says people actually want to buy its phones
It looks like John Chen’s feisty BlackBerry has made itself another enemy. Last week, BlackBerry put up a post on its official blog that trashed the Blackphone for only offering “consumer-grade” security that couldn’t come close to touching BlackBerry’s enterprise-grade security. Blackphone isn’t taking this insult lying down, however, because it’s just shot back and said that, unlike BlackBerry, it makes secure smartphones that people actually want to buy.
