Beautiful images show us what the iPhone 6 will look like in silver, gold and gray
Earlier this week, we posted some absolutely gorgeous renders of the iPhone 6 created by designer Mark Pelin that were based on leaked pictures of iPhone 6 dummy models. While these new renders adhered to the basic contours of the iPhone 6 mockups we’re all familiar with, they also added some finishing touches that made us really see how great the device will look when it’s finally released. And now TheTechBlock has posted some new renders created by designers Tomas Moyano and Nicolàs Aichino that show us how terrific the iPhone 6 will look in both gold and space gray.

First leaked Galaxy F photo reveals… Samsung’s MOST SHAMELESS iPhone ripoff yet!
Samsung is a company that has a long history of both leading and following, though it is difficult to argue that the success the company is currently enjoying with its smartphone business can be attributed in part to its uncanny ability to do the latter. In fact, the company’s handset sales didn’t really start to take off until executives created a confidential 132-page internal document detailing exactly how engineers should copy the iPhone pixel by pixel. Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones improved by leaps and bounds after their software was reworked in the iPhone’s image, and since then, the company has worked to veer away from iOS and carve out its own path.
When it comes to allegations that Samsung may have stolen various physical design elements from Apple devices, however, it looks like Samsung’s biggest iPhone ripoff is yet to come.

Samsung shows off the airport of the future
Samsung is perhaps best known for its market-leading smartphone business but more so than any other technology giant, Samsung operates across a wide range of businesses. It makes televisions, appliances, computers and even the components that power them all. As a result, Samsung is perhaps better equipped than most to take stabs at shaping futuristic environments, because it can develop and build almost all of the relevant tech in-house.

EA exec: ‘Core gamers’ have only themselves to blame if they hate freemium games
Is EA itching to reclaim the crown from Comcast for the title of America’s worst company? That’s the impression we get from a GamesIndustry interview with EA COO Peter Moore, who dismissed concerns about the gaming industry’s move toward a new “freemium” model where games are free to download but can be miserable to play unless you pony up for in-game purchases.

Ford pits The Stig against Gran Turismo 6 in Focus ST Goodwood run
Filed under:
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the world great automotive gatherings. So, it was the perfect event for Ford to give the refreshed 2015 Focus ST its world debut in front of a loving public. It even surprised us with a new diesel-powered version, as well.
The Blue Oval really put its focus on making the ST a better driver for this refresh. It left its 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder alone to still pump out a respectable 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The changes like a retuned front suspension, electric power steering and improved interior made the hot hatch an even better place to spend time behind the wheel.
To prove that the Focus ST is still as potent as ever, Ford set up a one-on-one race up the Goodwood Hill. But instead of putting the two cars side-by-side, former Stig from Top Gear UK, Ben Collins, piloted the real model up the course, and his rival drove the virtual version in Gran Turismo 6. The two hot hatches set off at the same time to see whether reality could beat the virtual world, and the finish was actually extremely close. Scroll down to watch the video and find out the winner of this battle at Goodwood.

HTC returns to profit in Q2 as steep climb begins
Thanks in part to sales of its flagship HTC One (M8) smartphone, HTC has delivered on its promise and returned to profit in the second quarter. The struggling handset maker on Thursday reported preliminary unaudited financial results for the June quarter, noting a narrow $75 million profit on revenue totalling just under $2.2 billion. The good news is that the company finally managed to return to a profit, but the bad news is that revenue is still sliding. In other words, sales are still sputtering but HTC’s recent cost-cutting measures have had a clear impact.

Microsoft exec explains why she uses an iPhone even though she ‘despises’ it
It might not surprise anyone to learn that not all Microsoft employees use Windows Phones and PCs in their personal lives, but Lifehacker’s interview with the Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research, danah boyd (and no, I didn’t forget to hold down shift) shows that it’s not all-Windows all the time. When asked about her current mobile device, danah admitted that her “primary phone is an iPhone, but I despise the device.” She only uses it to test apps in development and she really misses her old-school Sidekick.

2015 Saleen Mustang 302 preview
Filed under: Coupe, Aftermarket, Ford, Performance
The introduction of a new generation of a model like the Ford Mustang may be exciting enough in its own right for enthusiasts, but that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, because you know that Ford itself as well as numerous aftermarket tuners will soon follow up with even more desirable versions. And few Mustang tuners carry quite the same clout of Saleen.
Recently reunited after its previous split, Saleen is back on the map and hard at work on new aftermarket modifications for a wide array of muscle cars. We knew it would only be a matter of time before it would release a new 302 Mustang, and now it’s sent out the first image to show us what to expect.
Details are scarce, but House that Steve Built says the 2015 Saleen 302 Mustang “is perfectly positioned as the next American exotic.” And it should know, considering that it’s the same outfit that produced the Saleen S7 that really was a true American exotic. From the teaser image above we can see that Saleen has given its Mustang a new front air dam, a very wide air scoop on the hood and of course Saleen’s trademark slat grille.
We’ll have to wait to find out more, but given that the outgoing 302 packed as much as 625 supercharged horsepower, we should be in for one seriously wild stallion indeed.
