Windows Phone is getting an incredibly cool feature that iOS and Android can’t match
For a while now, we’ve wondered whether Microsoft had a plan to really differentiate Windows Phone from iOS and Android and make it more than just another mobile platform. The Verge’s Tom Warren reports that Microsoft is working on integrating its Kinect motion detection software into Windows Phone in a big way that could really give Microsoft a way to draw a lot more people to use its platform.

IPHONE USERS, BEWARE: Yet another flaw in iOS 7 and iOS 7.1 lets anyone bypass lock screen security
We have seen several security flaws discovered in iOS in the past that let people bypass a user’s lock screen by using a convoluted sequence of taps and swipes. The good news is by the time enough people learn about these vulnerabilities for them to pose a serious threat, they’re often already addressed in an update from Apple. Since so many people update to the latest versions of Apple’s iOS software so quickly, threats are often minimized.
The bad news, however, is that each time one hole is plugged, a new one is discovered.

Netflix explains why it’s trying to shame Verizon into improving its network
Netflix might stop trashing Verizon’s network next week… or it might not. Netflix on Monday posted an explanation on its blog explaining why it started telling its customers to blame Verizon’s network for slow streaming. The company says that these network-trashing messages are part of a trial program that’s slated to end on June 16th, although it says it might expand on the program in the future.

Microsoft reveals new details about Halo 5, the Xbox One’s most important game
You won’t just be able to play all of the early classic Halo games on the Xbox One — you’ll get a brand new one as well. Microsoft on Monday revealed that it’s going to a release a beta version of Halo 5: Guardians’ multiplayer features this December, or a little less than a year before the full game launches in the fall of 2015.

The next Assassin’s Creed game will be set in 18th century Paris and it looks absolutely stunning
Ubisoft on Monday took the wraps off the latest chapter of its popular Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed Unity. The game will feature four-player co-op and will be set in Revolutionary-era France. As you’d expect, the game footage shown at E3 looks absolutely stunning, as Paris in the late 18th century gives the studio a perfect setting to craft gorgeous visuals.

Microsoft just unveiled the Xbox game we’ve been waiting for – Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
Microsoft’s huge E3 2014 event is underway and the company started things off with a bang by announcing the game we’ve all been waiting for — Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. You can watch a live demo with gameplay footage over in our live blog right now! While this title won’t be exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, of course, Microsoft said that Xbox owners will be the first to get exclusive add-on content following the game’s launch.

Microsoft has a golden opportunity at E3 this year. After a tumultuous reveal, filled with consumer outrage and terrible Xbox 180 puns, Microsoft managed to right the ship, bringing the Xbox One in line with the vision that the public saw fit. Despite trailing behind the PS4, Xbox One sales have been extraordinary.
