Nikkei: Apple’s iWatch will launch in October with a curved OLED display
Although we just heard on Thursday from Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White that Apple would likely launch its first wearable computer in September alongside the iPhone 6, a new report from Nikkei claims that Apple won’t launch the iWatch until October. The report also claims that the new device will run on a modified version of iOS 8 and will have a curved OLED touchscreen, which seemingly hints that the device will indeed have a round face like the Moto 360 and not a square face like the Samsung Galaxy Gear.

Preview: ‘Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved’ revives a fading genre
After Rock Band hit its peak, the dance pads and plastic instruments of the music game genre appeared to be fading away for good. It was a fad that couldn’t quite sustain itself, so the leader in the genre, Harmonix, found a way to recreate music gaming without the expensive peripherals: Kinect. Dance Central might still be one of the Kinect’s only killer apps, and now the team is taking the concept and mashing it together with Disney’s classic film Fantasia. It might sound like an odd pairing, but the results are fascinating.

Arrogance and ignorance reportedly drove Apple to buy Beats
Many people have tried to explain why Apple needed Beats, speculating that the Beats Music subscription is the most relevant Beats business to Apple; that Apple is interested in Beats hardware; that Apple needs the Dre-Iovine duo for future music deals, or a combination of these factors. Apple said that it wants Beats both for its hardware and software businesses, giving both Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine position within the company. Beats gives iPhone 5s prominent placement in World Cup star-packed ad
Beats has released a new promotional video ahead of this year’s World Cup edition that will soon kick off in Brazil, featuring many stars, including many well-known players that will compete at the event. Among the stars making an appearance in the video, Beats has given Apple’s iPhone 5s top placement in the 5-minute video, with the handset being Neymar’s weapon of choice in his pre-game chat with his father, and being shown multiple times during the short video.

Barnes & Noble launches a last-ditch effort at saving the Nook
