RUMOR ROUNDUP: iOS 8, a mystery device, and everything you can expect from Apple at WWDC 2014
We’re now just three days away from one of just a few big events Apple holds each year, and this year’s WorldWide Developer Conference is shaping up to be hugely important for Apple. Despite the fact that Apple hasn’t released a single new device so far in 2014, the company’s stock is soaring to 12-month highs. Why? Because Apple CEO Tim Cook has repeatedly promised investors that exciting new products are coming in 2014.
Apple crushed its March-quarter earnings without having launched any new products since November 2013. Imagine what might happen once all these “exciting new products” finally hit store shelves.
With WWDC 2014, however, there’s good news and bad news.

UH OH… Apple just hired a Chinese task force to stop iPhone 6 leaks
There has been no shortage of iPhone leaks leading up to the highly anticipated launch of Apple’s next-generation iPhone lineup. Well-known insider Ming-Chi Kuo seemingly outed all of the key details surrounding Apple’s completely redesigned iPhone 6 and iPhone phablet back in April. Beyond that, we’ve seen dozens of mockups based on what are claimed to be schematics of Apple’s new iPhones that leaked from Foxconn.
But iPhone 6 leaks may soon be harder to come by — Apple has reportedly assembled a task force that will look to put an end to iPhone 6 leaks.

Why you might actually care about Microsoft’s smartwatch
Ugh, not another smartwatch. But wait — Microsoft thinks it knows how to make you care about it. According to Forbes, Microsoft is working hard to release a smartwatch this summer that will be the first smartwatch to be compatible with iOS, Android and Windows Phone. This means that, unlike with the Samsung smartwatches released so far, you won’t need to own a phone from a particular brand to make the watch at all useful.

Motorola so far launched only low-end devices this year, including the Moto E and the Moto G 4G LTE, but the company is working on a Moto X+1 version, a Moto X successor that was already confirmed on the company’s website. When we last checked in on the ‘six strikes’ Copyright Alert System, we discovered that it hadn’t done anything to curb online piracy as traffic continued to trend upwards at the most popular torrent site in the world. Radical RXC is a Mustang-hearted racecar for the road
Filed under:
Radical has been building fantastic open-cockpit racers and roadcars for years, for the track day enthusiast who wants a vehicle that looks like it could show up for a start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The company’s latest creation is the RXC, and while this coupe looks like a prototype racer, it’s road legal in the UK and in some parts of the US. When testing a car this, um, radical, the first thought is likely to get it to the track for some big slides and wide open acceleration, but XCar Films takes the opposite approach in its latest video to learn how this racer fares on public roads.
The version tested here is the standard RXC with the 3.7-liter V6 out of the Ford Mustang tuned to 350 horsepower with a seven-speed sequential gearbox; but Radical also offers the same engine with 380-hp, a 454-hp Ford EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, or even a 500-hp V8. Even in the most basic guise, it’s a handful to control in the wet, if this video is any indication. The cliché of a road-legal racecar is bandied around a lot in the motoring world, but it truly applies to the RXC.
The only problem with seeing the RXC exclusively on the road is that it can never really open up and show its full potential. This racer is indeed chomping at the bit to rocket off into the horizon, but all those pesky road safety laws hold it back. Still, the video is a chance to get a better impression about this thoroughbred sports car. Scroll down to check it out.
