Here’s some great news for everyone who wasn’t invited to attend Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference this year: You can now watch at least some of it online. Apple announced on Tuesday that you’ll be able to watch its WWDC keynote speeches on your Mac as long as you have OS X 10.6 or later installed and Safari 4 installed; on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch if they run iOS 4.2 or later; on your Windows PC if it has Quicktime 7 installed; and through Apple TV as long as you have a second-generation or third-generation Apple TV. Apple is widely expected to unveil both iOS 8 and a new “smart home” platform at WWDC this year, although it likely won’t unveil a major new piece of hardware like the iPhone 6, an iPad Air sequel or its long-fabled “iWatch.” Instead, we’re likely to see something along the lines of Retina-equipped MacBook Air laptops, as Apple is saving its biggest new product launches for the fall.

Uh-oh. This is probably not the reaction Apple wants to see from iPhone fans about its upcoming flagship smartphone. Via 9to5Mac, a video posted recently by YouTube user UrAvgConsumer showed several iPhone fans reacting to an iPhone 6 mockup that accurately reflected both the look and the shape of Apple’s bigger smartphone. Some of the iPhone users interviewed unknowingly lobbed what can only be described as the worst insult imaginable at Apple engineers: That it looks more like a Galaxy S5 than a traditional iPhone.

Filed under:

Being superstitious is one thing, but fainting and crashing your car because of a popular superstition about not breathing in tunnels isn’t something you should ever do… Especially while driving a car.

Yet, that’s exactly what happened according to Oregon State Police, as 19-year-old Daniel J. Calhon caused a dangerous three-car crash when his 1990 Toyota Camry suddenly drifted out of its lane and into a head-on crash with a Ford Explorer and a pickup truck inside the busy highway tunnel, closing it for over two hours… READ MORE

Last week, a developer revealed to the world just how easy it is for a nefarious hacker to use your Android phone to spy on you. With some simplecode that utilized a serious security hole, the developer was able to create a program that caused an Android handset’s camera to covertly capture photos on command, and then transmit those photos to a remote server without the user ever knowing.

The idea that your smartphone might be taking photos of you and sending them to a hacker without your knowledge is absolutely terrifying. But as it turns out, there’s an app that can guarantee your phone isn’t spying on you.
