Facebook on Thursday announced new privacy-related features that apply to both existing and new users interested in joining the platforms. The company has apparently acknowledged the fact that not all things should be shared with the public, and Facebook users should be able to only share stuff with their friends.

ATMC National Excellence in Training Awards
The Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) has issued a call for entries for the 2014 National Excellence in Training Awards. The annual program is designed to highlight the importance of training to the success of the transportation industry by honoring highly effective or innovative training programs The awards are open to any person or entity providing training in the industry.
The submissions are judged by an ATMC panel and awards are presented to programs that meet a prescribed level of excellence based upon several criteria, including the program overview, needs analysis, learning objectives, program materials/elements, delivery methods, measurement of the program’s effectiveness and program maintenance.
The 2013 National Excellence in Training Awards recipients include Bridgestone Retail Operations, Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair, KPA, National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium, NAPA Auto Parts, NAPA Auto Tech, and Penske Truck Leasing.
The application process is free to all ATMC members; $150 for non-members. The deadline to apply is Sept. 1. Awards will be presented in a special ceremony during the ATMC reception November 5th during Industry Week in Las Vegas.

Minecraft is finally coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita
The indie game phenomenon is finally making its way to the next generation. Mojang announced on its blog on Thursday that Minecraft will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PS Vita in August for $19.99, rounding out the last electronic devices on the planet that weren’t able to play the game that’s solid nearly 50 million copies since its alpha release in 2009.

This sleek iTunes concept is more gorgeous than any software Apple has ever made
We’ve covered enough smartphone concepts in the past few months at BGR to fill up the rest of the year, so we decided to mix it up today with what might be the best redesign for iTunes we’ve ever seen. Concept artist Brye Kobayashi has mocked up a concept for iTunes that does away with all the clutter of Apple’s recent updates while reconnecting the design style with previous versions of the software. The results are stunning.

Reports of the Surface mini’s death have been greatly exaggerated
The Surface mini project isn’t as dead as you might think, Neowin says, reporting that the device is real and may still launch in the future. The publication has confirmed that the mini tablet was excluded from the official Surface Pro 3 announcement following an “eleventh hour” decision – which apparently means as late as two days before the keynote – although it’s not clear whether or not Stephen Elop is to blame. However, it looks like Windows is waiting for one key feature to resurrect the Surface mini.

It looks like Apple might actually make Liquidmetal devices some day
About four years ago, Apple signed an agreement with Liquidmetal Technologies that gave it exclusive rights to the company’s unique metal alloy material for use in consumer electronics products. To date, Apple has used the exciting new material to create exactly one thing that we know about: a SIM ejector tool.
Apple hasn’t given up on the material though, as a recent SEC filing reveals that Apple and Liquidmetal have extended their exclusive agreement for another year.
