The Federal Communications Commission’s plan to allow for Internet “fast lanes” has just run into another major roadblock. In a letter sent to the FCC, several tech heavyweights slammed its reported plans to let ISPs charge Internet companies more money in exchange for ensuring a faster delivery of their traffic. Among the many huge names to sign the letter were Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, Netflix, Dropbox and Yahoo.

The Taiwanese handset maker will offer a few lucky winners a limited edition S.H.I.E.L.D. HTC One (M8) phone that has a S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on the back and identifying number.

After all this time, Apple’s iPad is still the most beloved tablet
Despite an onslaught of competititon, Apple’s iPad received the highest marks on the latest J.D. Power tablet satisfaction survey. According to the survey of over 2,500 tablet users, the iPad ranked first in every category except price and its overall satisfaction score of 830 out of 1,000 beat Samsung at 822, Asus at 820, Amazon at 817, and Acer at 769.

Sprint attempts to rewrite the T-Mobile merger as a boon for consumers
Sprint hasn’t had any luck moving forward with its proposed acquisition of T-Mobile so far, but CEO Dan Hesse is doing everything he can to spin the merger as a beneficial for the market as a whole. In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Hesse claimed that a bigger No. 3 provider would force the top 2 to remain competitive, rather than continuing to compete in an unsustainable price war.

China-based e-commerce giant Alibaba is preparing for an IPO. The company is expected to raise more than $15 billion in its initial offering, and it could even top the $16 billion Facebook racked up back in 2012, making it the largest technology sector IPO of all time. Alibaba is often referred to as “the Amazon of China” but the truth is that Alibaba’s reach stretches much, much further than Amazon’s. In fact you might be shocked at how many huge well-known Western companies it would take to cover all of the industries Alibaba spans.

Why the Wii U is pretty much toast
For a long time, many diehard Nintendo fans have clung to the hope that Wii U sales would finally explode once Nintendo released Mario Kart 8 and the new Super Smash Bros. game, two titles that have been absolute goldmines for Nintendo in the past. However Time’s Matt Peckham, who has staunchly defended Nintendo’s overall business model and strategy in the past, says that it’s basically game over for the Wii U no matter how good its big upcoming games are. And the reason for this is pretty simple: There’s just nothing that great about the Wii U.

The team at MacRumors has apparently grown tired of seeing all of these leaked iPhone 6 mockups without being able to try them out. That’s why they’ve now 3D printed their own mockup of the device based on leaked schematics to get a feel for just how different the larger device will be when it releases later this year.

Huge leak may show us everything Sony has planned for the PS4 at E3
Before Sony has even sent out one invitation for its press conference, a major leak may have revealed everything the company was planning to show on stage. DualShockers reports that an anonymous source with information from contacts within Sony and the BBH New York marketing firm has obtained a detailed list of Sony’s entire press conference, including every new PlayStation 4 announcement, every game demo and every publisher that will take the stage in June. Samsung’s Gear 2 Solo smartwatch might make phone calls on its own
Samsung might be looking to have the same impact in the wearable market as it has with its multitude of smartphones over the past several years. Technology site MakTechBlog came across a listing on Indian import site Zauba for a “Gear 2 Solo” with the code name SM-R710. BGR sister site BGR India reported on a patent application for the Gear Solo early last month, signaling that Samsung might be working on a standalone smartwatch with a SIM card slot.

NASA is broadcasting breathtaking HD footage of Earth shot from the International Space Station
As of Wednesday morning, NASA has begun testing its most recent addition to the International Space Station: four HD cameras which will broadcast live from the exterior of the station on the agency’s Ustream page. This project was completed in cooperation with the High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware (HUNCH) program in order to allow students to design camera components and help operate the experiment.
